In the summer of 2023, we met on the dating app Hinge after many failed (and sometimes hilarious) first dates for Lizzy and no dates for Ethan. Due to the seemingly hour-long distance between us, Lizzy suggested a meeting point midway in downtown Yakima. Psyched for his first date in many many months, Ethan had preemptively listed his location in his future town of Ellensburg but really was living in Silverdale, making his date commute 3 hours long.

The next day, Ethan left for a two-week work trip to Korea, so we talked on the phone (not even FaceTime) for those weeks before our 2nd date: a picnic hike that ended up lasting 8 hours! By the end of this date, we were smitten, and we've continued to love our time together doing almost anything.

On April 14, 2024, Ethan proposed and Lizzy immediately said yes!
