Our Story

The Future DeWulf's

Kaitlyn here (:

I know, I know you’ve all heard the story before of high school sweethearts falling in love and marrying each other. But, that’s just what happen with the two of us! We first met freshman year of high school in physics class, but our love story started Sophomore year of 2015 when he sat behind me in English class, shout out to Mrs. Shay!!! He won me over with his affectionate smile, jokes, and well of course, the fact he could play baseball (; We started dating May 24,2015.

Funny story Logan took me out on our first date to the movie, Poltergeist May 23,2015. This is where he supposedly asked me out but I never heard him (: fast forward to May 24 us and group of friends were at his house watching Talladega Nights where he then asked me AGAIN. Lol

But anyways ….

We both followed our dreams to play college softball and baseball. Our first two years of college we were 1 hour and 35 minutes away from each other. Fast forward those two years, I got the opportunity to transfer to Logans college and play softball, till we graduated college together 2021. Go Peacocks!

Logan proposed July 10th 2022, where we then got our first town home and soon to follow our first dog, Tito.

We will be getting married on our 9 years of being together. 5-24-2024

Logan here.

Kaitlyn and I first met in high school and began dating at the end of our sophomore year. Through our mutual passion for baseball and softball, as well as the Chicago Cubs, we fell in love with each other instantly. Being able to witness the 2016 Chicago Cubs World Series together made it felt like destiny. We both pushed each other to be the best people we can be, and both shared the same dream of playing collegiate sports. I would commit first to Upper Iowa University and Kaitlyn would go to North Iowa Area Community College about an hour and a half away. Kaitlyn would get an opportunity to play Upper Iowa in a fall scrimmage during the fall of our sophomore year. Shortly after, Kaitlyn was offered to play and come to school with me. Being able to go to the same school and live with Kaitlyn made me realize I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.

A year after graduating, Kaitlyn had just finished up her first half year of teaching when we decided to take a trip down to Gulf Shores, Alabama. Our families went to Tacky Jack’s 2 to watch the sunset and take pictures. It was at this time I dropped to my knee to ask my best friend to marry me.

Shortly thereafter, we moved in together in a townhome in Gilberts, Illinois and have welcomed our amazing puppy Tito into our home.
