Let’s start from the top:
Tyler moved to The Pas in 2012 to play hockey for the OCN Blizzard Junior A hockey team. Tyler and Logan knew of each other over the years but didn’t formally meet until September 2016. They were introduced by their dear mutual friend, Mexie (who has always made sure to remind them of this fact).
Tyler continued to pursue Logan for the next few months. He would come into Good Thymes for hot wings and a beer or paralyzer, which Logan would bring him as the lounge server.
She wasn’t interested in his advances at first. As Mexie continued to bring Tyler around more, he started to wear Logan down. (Tyler also adopted a puppy - this may have helped matters)…He would ask Logan to come over for a glass of wine, to which she would decline as she much preferred a Bud Light Apple.
In December, Logan was planning to have an after Ally party in the shop on the farm. When she got a ride home, the only other person that got out of the car was Tyler.
From that night on, the two have been inseparable.
Logan moved to Winnipeg for school and the two kept talking. Neither were intentionally trying to meet someone and they weren’t sure what the future looked like.
They ended up driving back and forth from The Pas to Winnipeg most weekends. During this time they would end up drinking countless bottles of wine and taking Blade on all of the adventures.
Tyler finally asked Logan to be his girlfriend on March 5th after a great weekend together in Selkirk.
Spring 2017 - Spring 2019 was spent moving back and forth between Selkirk and The Pas. Logan and Tyler spent 2 years saving up for the trip of the lifetime.
Very early on in their relationship they discovered a shared passion for travel. They semi-joked about how cool it would be to travel Southeast Asia together. That was quickly made a goal to accomplish.
Starting in Bali, Indonesia
Upon returning from Southeast Asia, Tyler and Logan moved back to The Pas. During the pandemic, they both started creative businesses. Tyler furthered his skills in photography and videography. Logan started a macrame business after learning the craft from a woman in Vietnam.
In 2020 they took Blade on a 2 week trip to Canmore where they camped out of her Jeep. They took their canoe and had magical days exploring the surrounding lakes and going on beautiful hikes. Breakfasts were made on far lakeshores on their griddle and they fell in love with the mountains. This would lead them on many more trips to Canmore.
In 2021, Logan and Tyler made their way back to the city as she was accepted into the Masters of Physical Therapy program at the University of Manitoba and he was hired with Manitoba Hydro as a lineman. They found a cute little apartment in St. Boniface that became their safe haven. Their first home.
They went on yet another trip to the mountains, this trip being the most special of all. On the morning of September 1st, they woke up at 4 am to drive to the trailhead of Tent Ridge Horseshoe hike. They drove through the dark, stopping to take pictures of the sunlight starting to come over the mountain ridges.
After the initial scramble, Tyler saw a ledge overlooking a beautiful landscape and set up his camera to take photos of the two of them. To Logan’s surprise he got down on one knee! He had practiced a speech the entire way up the mountain and forgot the entire thing once Logan started to cry.
Over the next two years, Logan worked towards graduating from her program & Tyler furthered himself in his trade. They became aunty and uncle many times over to beautiful nieces and nephews. They (Logan) have been slowly working at planning their wedding and they continue to travel (obviously).
