Q + A

Do the Tentalows have electricity?

NO! THE TENTALOWS DO NOT HAVE ELECTRICITY. There are charging stations on the property and the Cabins have outlets for tentalow guests to use if needed!

What do I pack if I am staying at Camp Olowalu?

Think luxurious camping! Shower towel & bathing supplies, light rain jacket & umbrella for singing in the rain, a charging block or power generator of sorts, sunscreen & aloe, a cooler, hat & sunnies, hangers to hang your clothes if desired, warm clothes for a night time campfire, heatless hair curlers (limited power outlets for the ladies who like to blow dry or curl their hair), swim suit, flip flops, card games & board games, your best dance moves. The venue has private outdoor showers, picnic tables, kayak/surfboard rentals, a washing machine, and a basic vending machine.

When should I get there?

We will be in Maui from November 1st. Please feel free to join us for some before & after adventures!

What is Camp Olowalu?

Camp Olowalu is a boutique, luxury campsite with beach front cabins & glamping tentalows (think yurt). This venue is remote with limited cell service and immersed in nature. There is a market and restaurant across the street, but it is relatively secluded from neighboring cities. Check out their website and Instagram to see the different variations of lodging options. How do I book a personal Tentalow at Camp Olowalu?

Visit Camp Olowalu's website to book a reservation. After creating an account, you can view rental options and availability. If you are having trouble, call Tiare at 1 (808) 661-4303 and let her know that you are with the Erickson wedding in October. Please note that there are limited rentals, and that they book up very quickly. It is recommended to book one ASAP! Website: https://campolowalu.com/

What is the wedding attire?

No shoes, no problem! This will be a beach wedding, so expect to be walking on the sand and in warm weather. Gents: shorts/slacks, Hawaiian shirts, flip flops. Ladies: sun dresses, sandals, coconut bras, and grass skirts ;)

What if I want to stay in a hotel or rental property?

No problem! But please feel free to join us at the venue for meals and activities! If you do not wish to stay at the venue in Olowalu, there are hotels near by and lodging options on AirBnb & VRBO. We recommend staying in Kihei, Kahului or Wailea as they are cities that are around 30 minutes away from the venue. Please note that Uber/Lyft is limited at night and cell service can be spotty. So if you are not staying at the venue, we would recommend renting a car or scheduling a car service.

Should I rent a car?

It is recommended to rent a car or carpool if you plan to do your own adventures or stay at a different venue. Ubers and Lyfts are limited and there is spotty cell service at Camp Olowalu. There is parking available at the venue.

Where is the wedding, dinner, and reception being held on 10/7?

We will be having the wedding, dinner, and reception on the beach at the venue. Here is a map of Camp Olowalu, the venue:
