We first met in 2018 in Nacogdoches, TX, and quickly became close friends, spending lots of time together throughout our time there. Logan eventually left Texas to work on the pipeline in Minnesota, while Melayna moved to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher.

In 2021, we reconnected at a friend’s engagement party, and the chemistry between us was undeniable. At the time, Melayna was too shy to ask Logan to be her date for Brooke’s wedding later that summer, so Brooke stepped in and invited him on her behalf.

Before the wedding, Melayna invited Logan to join her and some friends at a lake house to celebrate the Fourth of July. Logan eagerly accepted, and after an unforgettable weekend together, we both realized we were meant to be. Just a few weeks later, Logan returned to town for Brooke’s wedding, and on July 30, 2021, he asked Melayna to be his girlfriend.

Although we were doing long distance for a while, we made it work by traveling back and forth to see each other. In March 2022, Logan moved to Wylie, and we officially moved in together. A year later, in February 2023, we moved into our first apartment, and in March, we brought home our sweet Lainey girl.

Then, on April 12, 2024, Logan surprised Melayna by proposing with close friends and family gathered to celebrate this incredible moment.

Our journey is a true testament to the idea that the most profound connections often form when we least expect them. And we couldn’t be more grateful for the adventure we’re on together.
