With Brennen and I being homeschooled together, his friends quickly became mine, and I felt incredibly lucky to grow up surrounded by so many brother figures. Logan, however, was always a little different to me. When laughter filled the room, we seemed to instinctively look to one another to share in the joy. He included me in ways that never made me feel like “the little sister,” but rather a true friend. Watching how he treated others and how he treated me, he quietly became the gold standard for the man I hoped to marry (second only to my wonderful dad, of course).As we grew into adulthood, it became increasingly clear that this was the man I was meant to be with. Logan took me on our first date to Casa Mia, and after years of knowing him, I remember wondering what we would even talk about. As it turns out, the conversation flowed just as it always had, just effortlessly. I was reminded that he was the same man I had admired and loved for years.Being together has always felt easy. I never imagined a partnership so full of love, encouragement, and laughter…especially laughter, because he is truly so funny. There is so much more that could be said about our time together, but I’ll end it here: falling in love with my brother’s best friend became my favorite cliché, and I’m proud to be living it.
