We first met freshman year in English class, but we weren’t exactly close friends. We’d see each other around but barely spoke throughout high school. Then, towards the end of junior year, Silas asked me out to go bowling at Buck’s Fish Bowl. We had an amazing date, but funny enough, we didn’t hang out again or talk much after that—haha!
That all changed halfway through senior year when we ended up in the same friend group. We started spending more time together, and I really wanted to see Frozen 2. Silas surprised me with tickets, and I call that our first official date. After the movie, we sat in his car and talked for two hours straight. From that night on, we were inseparable, and just a week later, we officially started dating.
One of my favorite memories is hiking in Washington. I overpacked my backpack (classic me), and sweet Silas carried it the entire way. The views were stunning—rivers and lush green trails everywhere. We crossed a bridge right over the water at Riverside Park, sat down, and just took it all in.
Silas proposed on our four-year anniversary. I thought we were just going out for dinner, but on the way, he stopped at this beautiful overlook with a lit-up dock over the water. It was just the two of us, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Afterward, we celebrated with dinner, but that moment on the dock will always be my favorite part.
I love how hard working Silas is. He always is trying to be a better person for me and our future and has always been my biggest supporter.
I love how understanding and fun Logan is. She gets me and is always there through everything.
