While the 30 minute ceremony will be standing room-only, for those who need or prefer to sit, there will be a stack of folding chairs against the wall. Feel free to ask any staff member or another guest if you need assistance moving a chair. Additionally, there will be sofas for seating in the living room, but might not have the best view.

Mayfield Senior School is an independent school in Pasadena, and holds a special place in McManus family history. Jim and Caroline both worked at Mayfield, Jim as Head of School and Caroline as an English teacher. The Mayfield faculty and staff celebrated Lora's arrival with a baby shower, and again with her baptism in Mayfield's chapel. Lora attended Mayfield as a student, graduating in 2014. She recently returned to be engaged in alum JDEI work. It is an privilege and gift to be able to use this space as our wedding venue. As such, while this is a private event, please be mindful that it remains school property and all laws regarding school property continue to apply.

Be yourself! Go as formal or as casual as you would like. The ceremony will take place indoors, and the reception will take place outdoors of a combination of brick, pavers, and grass.

There will be ample parking that will require a short amount of walking. If you would like a reserved parking space for accessibility, please let Lora know.

Yes, yes, and yes! Reception will be family-friendly "backyard-party" style with lawn games and food trucks. It will be "eat when you get hungry" (4pm-8pm), with no formal sit-down meal. There will be three children's high chairs available to share.

There is currently no mask mandate in LA County or Pasadena. Please consider your own comfort levels. The ceremony will be approx. 30-minutes indoors in close proximity, and then the reception will be primarily outdoors with some indoor seating options. We will not be requiring proof of vaccination or a negative test, as currently 99.3% of Pasadena residents are fully vaccinated. For those traveling from out of town, there are no travel, testing, or quarantine restrictions for domestic travel in California at this time.

We will have having two food trucks-- one serving a variety of pastas, and one serving a variety of Mexican food. Both will be prepared to with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. We will also be offering beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks during the reception (no hard liquor).
