When should I arrive?
We recommend that all guests arrive no later than Thursday, June 5th so you have enough time to rest and adjust the time zone before Saturday.
Have you reserved hotel room blocks?
We’ve reserved a block of rooms at Villa Flavia, a boutique hotel on the main pedestrian boulevard in the center of Plovdiv.
Please refer to the "Traveling to Bulgaria" page for information on how to book you room.
Will there be a shuttle to and/or from the hotel?
No. Our guests will be arriving on different days and at different times, limiting our ability to provide transport. Please refer to the "Traveling to Bulgaria" page for more information on getting from the airport to Plovdiv.
What is the dress code?
Formal attire is recommended. Please wear shoes suitable for walking on the cobblestone streets in Old Town Plovdiv. For ladies, this means no thin heels for the ceremony portion of the day!
How far are the venues?
All venues are within walking distance of each other along Plovdiv’s pedestrian boulevard. If mobility is a concern, let us know, and we’ll arrange transportation.
How do I RSVP?
Please RSVP via our wedding website.
When is the RSVP deadline?
March 1st, 2025. If we do not receive an RSVP from you by this date, we will assume that you, unfortunately, cannot join us. You will be missed!
Can I take photos during the ceremonies?
We kindly ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremonies. Professional photographers and videographers will capture everything.
Can I bring a guest?
If your invitation does not include a plus one, we kindly ask you to attend solo.
Is there a gift registry?
If you feel strongly about providing a gift, we do have a small registry. However, your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift of all!
Where is the ceremony?
The civil ceremony is at the Historic Hindliyan House in Old Town Plovdiv, a beautifully preserved 19th-century merchant’s residence in Old Town Plovdiv, known for its vibrant frescoes and charming architecture. It’s the perfect setting for our civil ceremony.
The church ceremony will be at Sveta Bogoroditsa Church, a historic Eastern Orthodox church with breathtaking interiors and a longstanding presence in Plovdiv's cultural landscape.
Where is the reception?
The reception is in the ballroom at Hotel Trimontium.
What should I wear?
We recommend formal attire for the wedding and shoes that you can walk on cobblestones with (no thin heels!). For the rest of your time in Bulgaria, anything that will keep you cool during the day and warm at night (a jacket is recommended), will work. We are not a particularly conservative country when it comes to clothes, shorts and sleeveless tops are acceptable.
What will the weather be like?
The weather is likely to be warm, often reaching 80+ degrees Fahrenheit during the day and falling into the 60s at night.
What happens between the ceremony and reception?
Between the civil and church ceremony there will be opportunities for photos with the bride and groom. After both ceremonies, guests will make their way to Hotel Trimontium for a cocktail hour on the terrace before heading upstairs for the reception.
What food will be served, and what if I have dietary restrictions?
The menu has not been finalized but will likely include pork, gluten, and dairy. An alternate option can be provided for those who do not eat pork. If you have any other dietary restrictions we should know about, please let us know.
We have questions that haven't been addressed here, who should we contact?
Please reach out to Lora directly with any questions.
