Evan and Loraine first met briefly at their mutual friend Emily's Halloween Party in October of 2019. A few weeks after, Evan couldn't get the girl dressed as a bag of Flaming Hot Cheetos off of his mind and finally reached out to Loraine (once getting the nod of approval from Emily) and set up their first date, which took place at Bru in Lake Forest, during the following November.
The two took things slow as they discovered each other's mutual interests included: long conversations over espresso, competing against one another in Mario Party, seeing live music, ordering too much food at restaurants, long nights playing cards and board games, hikes, and trips to the beach. Officially, they began dating in August of 2020. After two full years of dating (COVID made 2020/2021 feel like five years...) Loraine proposed to Evan in the Narrows at Zion National Park in Utah the day before Evan's 27th birthday in June of 2022.
The following year in July of 2023, Evan proposed to Loraine, with their "dual proposal" symbolizing their deep commitment to one another as partners.
In 2024, Loraine and Evan find themselves living in Houston, TX, as Loraine begins studying at University of Houston's medical school and Evan works remotely as a senior auditor for an accounting firm based out of Irvine, CA.
Over the years, Loraine has exposed Evan to the wonders of thrifting, the culinary delicacy that is pineapple covered in Tajin, and how almost every meal could benefit from a squeeze of fresh lemon. Evan introduced Loraine to countless Sci-Fi and Horror movies, some of which she forced him to turn off and some she has grown to love, taught her that there's an anime series out there for everyone, and that his favorite band, Tame Impala, is just one guy.
They said "I do" in front of a small group of their immediate family at an intimate ceremony held at the Sunnyside Conservatory in San Francisco on June 20, 2025, and celebrated later that evening at the Phoenix Hotel.
The newlyweds are excited to continue writing their story and creating a lifetime of memories in the coming years as husband and wife.
