Our Wedding

On a sunny summer afternoon in 2019, Max and Lorena first met alongside the beach in Santa Monica, during a friends weekly hang out organized by Kai, Max's cousin. While playing frisbee, Max noticed Lorena, a beautiful lady—with long brown hair and big brown eyes—and was immediately drawn to her. There they struck up a conversation, and Max was intrigued by her passion for education and social justice. The group of friends continued to gather for hikes until the pandemic. Maxwell and Lorena’s connection was reshaped, moving their conversations virtually via zoom and long phone chats. Over time, Max and Lorena's connection grew deeper, and once restrictions eased, they began spending more time together in person. It was evident, what started as a friendship slowly blossomed into something more. They became best friends, sharing ideas, laughter, and dreams. The foundation of trust and understanding they built during that time laid the perfect groundwork for love. One evening at the beach, captivated by her beauty, Max made his move and asked her out. Their bond quickly deepened, and not long after, Max asked Lorena to be his girlfriend at Plaza Olvera, showering her with confetti as a nod to her Mexican heritage. In late spring of 2023, knowing her love for the ocean, Max took her to a seaside dinner, followed by a walk on the Hermosa Beach pier, where he proposed. It was the perfect setting to express his love for her, a love that had grown from friendship into something deeper than either could have imagined. And now, as Maxwell and Lorena stand on the threshold of marriage, they are about to marry their best friend, the person who has become each other’s everything—companions for life.

En una soleada tarde de verano en 2019, Max y Lorena se conocieron junto a la playa en Santa Mónica, durante una reunión semanal de amigos organizada por Kai, primo de Max. Mientras jugaban frisbee, Max notó a Lorena, una mujer hermosa, con cabello largo y castaño y grandes ojos marrones, y se sintió atraído de inmediato. Ahí comenzaron a platicar, y Max quedó intrigado por su pasión por la educación y la justicia social. El grupo de amigos siguió reuniéndose para hacer caminatas hasta que llegó la pandemia. La conexión entre Maxwell y Lorena se transformó, llevando sus conversaciones al ámbito virtual mediante Zoom y largas charlas telefónicas. Con el tiempo, la conexión de Max y Lorena se profundizó, y una vez que se aliviaron las restricciones, comenzaron a pasar más tiempo juntos en persona. Era evidente que lo que comenzó como una amistad lentamente se transformó en algo más. Se convirtieron en los mejores amigos, compartiendo ideas, risas y sueños. La base de confianza y entendimiento que construyeron durante ese tiempo sentó las bases perfectas para el amor. Una noche en la playa, cautivado por su belleza, Max dio el siguiente paso y la invitó a salir. Su vínculo se profundizó rápidamente, y no mucho después, Max le pidió a Lorena que fuera su novia en la Plaza Olvera, bañándola con confeti como un homenaje a su herencia mexicana. A finales de la primavera de 2023, sabiendo su amor por el mar, Max la llevó a una cena junto al mar, seguida de un paseo por el muelle de Hermosa Beach, donde le propuso matrimonio. Fue el escenario perfecto para expresar su amor por ella, un amor que había crecido desde la amistad hasta convertirse en algo más profundo de lo que ambos pudieron haber imaginado. Y ahora, mientras Maxwell y Lorena están al umbral del matrimonio, están a punto de casarse con su mejor amigo/a, la persona que se ha convertido en todo para el otro: compañeros de vida.

1. What time does the ceremony start?Our Catholic wedding ceremony will begin promptly at 1:30 PM at St. John's Chrysostom Church. We kindly ask that you arrive 15 minutes earlier, as the ceremony will start promptly and last about one hour. Please make sure to be on time, as we wouldn't want you to miss a single moment of our special day. 2. Can we take photos and videos during the church ceremony?We’re thrilled to have you with us to celebrate this sacred moment. We've hired a talented photographer to capture every detail, and we would love for you to be fully present during the ceremony. Therefore, we kindly ask that you turn your cell phones on silent and refrain from taking photos or videos. This will allow us all to be fully immersed in the ceremony and enjoy the experience together. Thank you for understanding! 3. What should we wear?The dress code is elegant and polished! Think Black Tie or Cocktail attire—we want to see you looking fabulous. It's a celebration, so let's dress to impress and make this day as beautiful as possible. Some ideas for a lady would be a floor length dress or think knee length/just below the knee. Men, it’s a formal suit or tuxedo. Look dapper and sharp! 4. What do we do between the ceremony and reception?There is some free time between the ceremony and the reception, and we'd love for you to enjoy this time to explore Los Angeles. If you’re in the mood for a little adventure, consider checking out The Port of San Pedro, the Ships, and the Fish Market. It's a lovely spot to stroll, grab a bite, or just enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We will also send out a more specific list of things to do for those of our loved ones that are from out of town! 5. Where is the reception and what time does it start?The reception will be at Michael's Tuscany Room. We’ll be celebrating from 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM, and we’re so excited to celebrate our union and love with you! There is an event schedule&nbsp;that will be posted when you enter the venue. Please be sure to read it and enjoy. We hope it will be an evening full of joy, delicious food, and dancing! 6. What about parking?Parking details for both locations:For the ceremony at St. John’s Church:There’s a parking lot located behind the church. You can enter through Grace Avenue.For the reception at Michael’s Tuscany Room:There’s a parking lot next to the venue, located on the right side of the building. Parking is free after 6 PM. 7. What’s the food like at the reception?We have a delicious Italian-inspired menu for dinner, including a variety of tasty dishes like pastas, a fresh salad, and a meat (chicken). We hope it will be a treat for your taste buds!If you are vegetarian or if you have a gluten allergy, please make sure to let us know ahead of time by reaching out to us directly (email or cell). We want to make sure everyone is well taken care of so please reach out. 8. What about drinks?There will be a signature drink at the bar, specially chosen by the bride and groom. We also have an open bar option, please look at the schedule for when that is happening. Come ready to raise a glass and enjoy this unique creation! 9. 1. A qué hora empieza la ceremonia?Nuestra ceremonia en la iglesia de San Juan Chrysostomo comenzará puntualmente a la 1:30 PM. Algunas ideas para las damas son un vestido largo o uno a la altura de la rodilla o un poco más abajo. Para los caballeros, se recomienda un traje formal o un esmoquin. ¡Venganse elegantes y sofisticados! 4. Qué hacemos entre la ceremonia y la recepción?Tenemos un poco de tiempo libre entre la ceremonia y la recepción, y nos encantaría que disfrutaran de este tiempo para explorar. Si están de ánimo para un poco de aventura, les sugerimos visitar el Puerto de San Pedro, los Barcos y el Mercado de Pescado. Es un lugar encantador para pasear, comer algo o simplemente disfrutar del hermoso entorno. También enviaremos una lista más específica de cosas que hacer para nuestros seres queridos que vienen de fuera de la ciudad. 5. Dónde es la recepción y a qué hora empieza?La recepción será en Michael’s Tuscany Room. Estaremos celebrando de 6:00 PM a 11:00 PM, ¡y estamos muy emocionados de celebrar nuestra unión y amor con ustedes! Habrá un horario del evento que se publicará al entrar/en la entrada. Por favor, asegúrense de leerlo y disfrutarlo. ¡Esperamos que sea una noche llena de alegría, deliciosa comida y baile! 6. Y el estacionamiento?Detalles sobre el estacionamiento para ambas ubicaciones:• Para la ceremonia en la Iglesia de San Juan:Hay un estacionamiento ubicado detrás de la iglesia. Se puede ingresar por Grace Avenue.• Para la recepción en Michael’s Tuscany Room:Hay un estacionamiento junto al lugar, ubicado en el lado derecho del edificio. El estacionamiento es gratis despues de las 6 PM. 7. Cómo es la comida en la recepción?Tenemos un delicioso menú inspirado en la comida italiana para la cena, que incluye una variedad de platos sabrosos como pastas, una ensalada fresca y un plato de carne (pollo). Esperamos que sea un deleite para su paladar. Si son vegetarianos o tienen alguna alergia al gluten, por favor asegúrense de avisarnos con antelación contactándonos directamente (por correo electrónico o teléfono móvil). Queremos asegurarnos de que todos estén bien atendidos, así que por favor comuníquense con nosotros. 8. Y las bebidas?Habrá una bebida exclusiva en el bar, especialmente elegida por los novios.
