Getting to Varenna
The best way to get to Varenna is from Milan by train. There are no direct trains to Varenna from any of the Milan airports (Malpensa (MXP), Linate (LIN), or Bergamo (BGY)), but there is a direct train from the Milan Train Station (Milano Centrale) to Varenna. You will first have to head from the airport to the Milan Train station by bus, train, or taxi/uber. There are train or bus options from MXP, but only a bus option from LIN and BGY. Directions below.

By Train
Milano Malpensa Airport (MXP) to Milano Centrale:
1) Take the "Malpensa Express" train to Milano Centrale. Departures are every 30 minutes from Terminals 1 or 2.
2) Once you arrive at Milano Centrale, follow the directions below to Varenna.
* We recommend booking your train tickets in advance (HTTPS://WWW.MALPENSAEXPRESS.IT/EN/TICKETS/).
*The train runs between 5:43am and 10:43pm, costs about $14.00, and takes about 55 minutes.

By Bus
Milano Malpensa Airport (MXP) to Milano Centrale:
1) Take the "Malpensa Shuttle" bus to Milano Centrale. Departures are every hour from Terminals 1 or 2.
2) Once you arrive at Milano Centrale, follow the directions below to Varenna.
* We recommend booking your bus tickets in advance (HTTPS://WWW.MALPENSASHUTTLE.IT/EN/TICKET-OFFICES.HTML).
*The buses run between 6:00am and 10:43pm, costs about $11.00, and takes about 1 hour.
Milano Linate Airport (LIN) to Milano Centrale:
1) Take the "Linate Shuttle" bus to Milano Centrale. Departures are every hour.
2) Once you arrive in Milano Centrale, follow the directions below to Varenna.
* We recommend booking your bus tickets in advance (HTTPS://WWW.MILANO-AEROPORTI.IT/LINATE-SHUTTLE/EN/INDEX.HTML).
*The buses run between 9:30am and 8:30pm, costs about $6.00, and takes about 25 minutes.
Milano Bergamo Airport (BGY) to Milano Centrale:
1) Take the "Orio Shuttle" bus to Milano Centrale. Departures are every hour.
2) Once you arrive in Milano Centrale, follow the directions below to Varenna.
* We recommend booking your bus tickets in advance (HTTP://WWW.ORIOSHUTTLE.COM/_ENG/).
*The buses run between 5:50am and 12:50pm, costs about $11.00, and takes about 50 minutes.

Train from Milano Centrale to Varenna Esino:
1) Head to the train station in Milan (Milano Centrale).
2) Take the express train to Varenna Esino.
* Tickets one-way cost about $11.00. 1 hour ride.
* We recommend booking your ticket in advance (https://www.trenord.it/en/).
Accommodations (Room Blocks)
Villa Cipressi
Villa Cipressi is our wedding venue. The below rooms are currently blocked off from July 3 - July 5. We recommend you book as soon as possible as hotels in Lake Como fill up quickly.
The room block is only through August 31, 2023 so try to book before then. There is no block code you just have to email (reservation@hotelvillacipressi.it) or call the hotel and say its for the Tyler Katz and Lori Moreda room block. They take a while to respond (european work ethic...). If you do not hear back or are having trouble booking let us know and our planner will help.
Classic Rooms at € 300.00 per room, per night, breakfast included
Deluxe Rooms at € 380.00 per room, per night, breakfast included
Prestige Rooms at € 410.00 per room, per night, breakfast included
Junior Suite at € 500.00 per room, per night, breakfast included
Hotel Royal Victoria
Hotel Royal Victoria is next door to our wedding venue. The below rooms are currently blocked off. We recommend you book as soon as possible as hotels in Lake Como fill up quickly.

There are rooms above Classic which we were unable to book. You will have to ask via email if they are available.
Other Hotel Options
Villa Monti
Villa Monti is down the road from the town of Varenna and about a 3 minute walk to the wedding venue (Villa Cipressi). The rooms are apartment style. We were able to book the Primrose apartment from July 2 - July 6 and the Hydrangea apartment from July 3 - July 5.
Primrose: The apartment is a 2 bed (1 full size bed in each bedroom) 1 bath and also has a sofa bed. If you would like to stay here let us know and we will let Villa Monti know. We can also alter the dates if you would like a shorter trip.
Hydrangeas: The apartment is a 1 bed 1 bath duplex. It's in the tower part of the building. If you would like to stay here let us know and we will let Villa Monti know. We cannot expand the dates as of now, but asked Villa Monti to let us know if any dates open up.
Unfortunately, the other large rooms are already booked (keep an eye out in case someone cancels), but there are 2 studio apartments (the Tulip and the Peony apartments) left that you can book. Both apartments have balconies overlooking the lake; however, the beds are sofa beds (no promises on comfort). Let us know if you need help booking. Below are the rates for each.
Tulip Apartment: €260 / night + €49 cleaning fee
Peony Apartment: €204 / night + €49 cleaning fee
Hotel du lac
Hotel Du Lac is not yet open for July 2024 booking, but will open for booking in early July this year. The hotel only has 16 rooms and they will go fast so we recommend checking often to make sure you secure a room. The hotel is a 4 minute walk to the wedding venue (Villa Cipressi). Below are the room rates per the website:
Superior Room Lake View With Terrace: € 335/ night Superior Room Lake View: €300 / night
Double Room Lake View: €250 / night
Standard Double Room: €210 / night
Single Room: €145 / night
Double Room For Single Use with Lake View: €200 / night
