Transportation:
1. Grab (highly recommend for convenience and safety. This is a ride app similar to Uber, can take US cards and tends to be cheaper)
2. White taxis (they are everywhere. You may ask the front desk of your hotel to catch one for you ahead of time)
3. Car rentals (I do not recommend driving on your own in the Philippines)

About ten kilometers away from downtown Cebu, a popular destination among tourists sits on top of the summit of Mt. Busay in Lahug. One of the most popular pilgrimage sites is the Basilica Minore del Santo Nino de Cebu, recognized as the oldest Catholic church in the Philippines.
Located right next to Sto. Nino, Magellan’s Cross holds a very big part of the history of Cebu. It is a Christian cross planted by the Portuguese and Spanish explorers headed by Ferdinand Magellan. It was planted upon their arrival in Cebu on March 15, 1521. That day also marked the birth of Christianity in the land.
The original cross was believed by the people of old to have miraculous healing powers so they started chipping it away. Because of that, the government officials was prompted to supposedly encased it in another wooden cross made from tindalo.
This popular attraction is dubbed as the “Little Amsterdam of Cebu” because of its Netherlands-like tulip field, windmills, and a backdrop of the mountains. II. SOUTH OF CEBU
This side of the island is known for its snorkeling and deep diving activities, as well as ocean views and home to many of the water activities Cebu is known for. Definitely worth going if it is your first time!

You can either arrange a tour or plan your own itinerary. If you plan to have your own itinerary, I have contact information to private van rides that I will be posting soon. Another quick tip is to travel with a group to save on costs :)

Malapascua Island, located in the northern part of Cebu, is just one of the many islands you can explore in the Philippibes. But what makes this small island a must-visit is that it's the only place in the whole world where you can dive with thresher sharks on a nearly daily basis.
Malapascua Island is known for some of its popular attractions, which includes Bounty Beach, Langub Beach, Logon Beach, Japanese Wreck Marine Sanctuary, and Guimbitayan Beach.
