The wedding takes place just across the river from the Main City area in Gdańsk. Main City has multiple hotel options and the entire Main City area is very safe. We have provided some hotel recommendations in the Travel section.
What airport should I fly into?
The closest major airport is Gdańsk Lech Walesa airport.
What if I do not speak Polish?
About 1/3 of Poles speak English. You will find this even higher in the major cities with a majority of service industry and staff that support tourism.
We would recommend downloading the Google Translate app on your phone. You will be able to point it at text to translate and read things that are in Polish, such as menus.
How should I get from Gdańsk airport to Main City Gdańsk?
There are multiple ways to get from Gdańsk airport to Main City. Poland has very good public transit and you can use a combination of buses and/or trains. We recommend utilizing Google Maps to understand how to use public transportation.
Additionally, rideshare is available in Poland with the two main rideshare companies being Uber and Bolt. We recommend having accounts for both downloaded on your phone.
What language will the Wedding Ceremony and Reception be in?
It will be a mixture of Polish and English.
Is the reception really to 4 AM?
Yes, a traditional Polish wedding reception lasts until at least 4 AM. During the reception there will be dancing, games, food and Vodka (along with other beverages)
Will I be fed at the recpetion?
Yes, a lot. Traditional Polish weddings have multiple courses throughout the night. Approximately, every 2 hours a new course of traditional Polish food will be served.
