How we met and all the rest!

Picture of How we met and all the rest!

Louisa was attending the University of South Alabama's nursing program when she met Lucas. Lucas was working for the simulation department at the college. Louisa and her classmates had been checking out the cute guy working in the simulation lab. Louisa noticed Lucas eating a healthy lunch of quinoa, turkey, and spinach. Louisa took it as a chance to strike up a conversation with the cute guy that works at simulation. The subtle flirting and prolonged eye contact turned into saying hello to each other at the rec. center. Then befriending each other on social media...Louisa thought it would be a good idea to send Lucas a sponge bob meme which she thought he would be interested in. Almost immediately Lucas asked Louisa out to dinner at the Noble South downtown Mobile.

After college, Louisa would drive to Mobile to see Lucas, and Lucas would come to Fairhope to see Louisa. COVID happened so Louisa was working on a COVID floor at Thomas Hospital. Lucas was finishing up his Bachelors in Biomedical Sciences at USA.

After 2 and a half years of dating, Louisa and Lucas decided to cohabitate. They ended up adding another fur baby to the family, the list is as follows: Marshy (the dog), Lincoln (the big orange cat), and Toulouse (the tuxedo cat/new addition to the family).

While Lucas and Louisa were enjoying their time living together they would go on several trips together. They enjoy hiking, so they would go to Trenton, GA to stay in the family cabin. They enjoy the beach, so they would drive to South Florida to visit with Louisa's niece and nephew, Greyson and Kennedy (ring bearer and flower girl).

Once Lucas graduated with his degree from USA, he pursued firefighting as a career. He began fire school in October of 2022 and finished in May of 2023. He graduated at the top of his class in academics and physical fitness, for which he received recognition. Lucas currently is employed at the Crichton Fire Department in Mobile, he mostly rides the ladder truck (Engine 17). He has found so much joy and friendship while working for Mobile Fire. Lucas is currently pursuing a paramedic certification through the University of South Alabama, he finishes in December 2024.

Louisa continued to work at Thomas hospital, commuting from Mobile. She decided to pursue one of her career goals of becoming an ICU nurse. She became a Medical ICU nurse in March 2022. She achieved her critical care nursing certification in July of 2023. In March 2024, she obtained a new title of being an adjunct instructor at Coastal Community College for ICU level nursing students.

Lucas proposed to Louisa in July 2023, in front of her close friends and family. Despite the obvious signs of a proposal, Louisa was clueless and completely surprised. They have been wedding planning ever since. With help from friends and family, they are looking forward to October 26th to celebrate matrimony.
