Travel Directions:
We are so excited to see you all in September!!! In order to reach Newport, we recommend flying to the Providence airport, if possible, but we've also included information for travel to Newport from either Boston or New York.
If you are driving to Newport and are willing to drive others, or need help getting to Newport, please reach out to Ben at 978.844.4999, and he can help arrange a carpool.
We've outlined a few of the best options to get from three nearby locations to Newport, RI.
Providence to Newport
- Drive: ~45 minutes
- Uber is a fantastic option!!
- Bus: the route 60 bus regularly leaves from the Kennedy Plaza in Providence and arrives at the Newport Transportation Center: https://www.ripta.com/routes/60/
- Ferry: there is a ferry that runs from Providence to Newport, which takes approximately an hour. It will be running during our wedding, but the 2024 schedule has not yet been posted. If it is the same as last year there will be 3 ferries a day, at approximately 9am, 12pm and 3pm. More information here: https://seastreak.com/ferry-routes-and schedules/between-providence-newport-ri/
-Unfortunately, there is no train from Providence to Newport
Boston to Newport
- Drive: ~1 hour 30 minutes
- easy to rent a car
- Train: unfortunately, there are no direct trains to Newport, however, there is a train to Providence from South Station, which takes approximately 40 minutes.
- In order to reach South Station without a car, you can take the silver line (a bus line) directly from the airport
New York City to Newport
- Drive: ~3 hour 30 minutes
- Train: there is no train directly to Newport, however, there is a train from Penn Station to either: (1) Kingston Station (in Kingston, RI), or (2) Providence.
- From Kingston Station, you can take the route 64 bus to Newport, which takes approximately 50 minutes, or call a cab since it is approximately a 30 minute drive.
- From Providence, it is probably easiest to Uber!
