Can I bring a plus one?
We have worked incredibly hard to keep an intimate feel to our day while including as many friends and family members as we could fit into our head count. We respectfully ask that you only RSVP on behalf of the guests listed on your invitation.
Can we bring our children?
We know you love your kids, and we do too! However, we’d love for you to take this opportunity to have a parent’s night out and celebrate with us to the fullest extent! An exception will be made for the immediate family of the bride and groom.
What should I wear?
Your comfort is important to us! We are asking guests to come in semi-formal/cocktail attire. There will be grass so please keep that in mind when choosing footwear. Ties are optional!
Will there be parking?
Yes! There is a large lot down the hill from the venue to accommodate guest vehicles. A shuttle will be utilized from the parking lot to the venue.
Is the venue ADA Accessible?
Yes! Please reach out to the couple and we’ll explain the differences in parking, etc, for those needing accommodation.
Can I leave my vehicle overnight?
Although we ask you not to plan on it, if the need should arise, then absolutely. We have confirmed with the owners and all agree that everyone making it home safely at the end of the night is a top priority. There will be a shuttle making drop offs to a designated location where guests can then call a Lyft/Uber! If you do not plan to utilize the shuttle (who likes to leave a party early anyway?) and find yourself needing to utilize rideshare later on, we recommend scheduling your ride as soon as you have that thought, as the venue is in a remote area and rideshares can become sparse if not scheduled. Please plan to pick vehicles up by 11am the next morning.
Is smoking allowed?
Big Star Ranch is a non-smoking venue, however they do allow guests to bring e-cigarettes. If you find yourself needing to partake throughout the night, we ask that you plan ahead with an e-cigarette and consume it away from the main party.
What is there to do in the area?
Lots! Auburn, CA is the easiest and closest place for nearby lodging. Auburn is a gold rush town with historic charm. Visit Old Town and get a feel for the roots of the town, or travel up HWY 49 for a number of hikes and the famous Foresthill and No Hands Bridges. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, travel a little farther up HWY 49 to Coloma and see the Gold Discovery Site. You can even book a rafting trip on the South Fork of the American River!
Alternatively, the Placer Wine Trail is nearby if you find yourself with a free day and want to try some local wines made in the Sierra Foothills.
Additional Reminders:
Please keep in mind that Big Star Ranch is a private estate and the owners have been kind enough to share their beautiful property with us. With that in mind, we ask that you treat the property and the grounds as you would want guests to treat your property and be mindful of any behavior that may damage the grounds or be considered offensive.
