The Day Lucas and Macie First Met! Macie and Lucas met at Embolden's Senior Modeling Team photoshoot. Macie saw Lucas and quickly became obsessed with his good looks and charming personality. The issue? Lucas didn't even bat an eye at Macie. What he does remember about her is that "Her Mom dropped her off at Sluggos." Little did Lucas know, he would be obsessed with her years later.

The Day Lucas Asked Macie Out! Lucas decided to slide in Macie's DM's saying "Long time, no see" and proceeded to send the modeling picture of us standing next to each other, and asked to grab coffee. Macie was TOO excited. Her and Lucas planned a date for the following week. Lucas texted a few hours later and said he would leave work early so they could go on their date sooner. The first date was set for May 18.

The DAY of the first date. Macie was SO nervous she forced her sister McCulla to help her get dressed & sent this picture to her Mom in Florida. Macie arrived to Oddside Ales (which secretly, she had been at that morning and had forewarned all the workers about her upcoming date), and was looking for Lucas. Lucas was sitting inside with his hat on backwards and his back facing the door, resulting in Macie walking right past him. She then walked back and thought, did she forget Lucas had a mullet? Macie and Lucas talked for hours that day, both being late for their events later that day. Lucas remembers Macie being very talkative, and having a big smile. Macie remembers being obsessed with Lucas just like she was at 17. She also remembers him saying as he left "What do you want the score of my lacrosse game to be tonight?" Talk about some serious confidence. Macie called her friend immediately after the date and for the first time ever, was rendered entirely speechless.

Macie and Lucas' first picture together! With a very special guest, Grandma! Lucas decided to be brave and go to Macie's favorite weekly event, line dancing. Lucas remembers thinking, she must be the one because his friends had been trying to get him to go line dancing for years and he refused to go.

Macie and Lucas' First Wedding Together! They were lucky enough to be wedding dates, little did they know, they would be getting married two years later. Macie remembers thinking that she never had a wedding date before, and that she forced Lucas to slow dance with her when nobody else was. Lucas remembers Macie being nervous he was asked her to go so far in advance, but he knew they were in it for the long haul.

Macie's First Birthday Together! Lucas took a half day off of work to come and make sure Macie (& Kindal) felt very special. He took them to the beach and they all had a blast. After, he was able to sneak Macie out for a nice dinner. Macie remembers thinking that it was a super incredible and thoughtful that he would take a half day for her. Lucas remembers thinking he would do anything to make Macie feel special that day.

Macie and Lucas' First Pickleball Tournament! Macie's Mom served as inspiration to start playing pickleball, and Macie and Lucas took the bait. They weren't sure what they were getting in to, but had a lot of fun. Macie remembers thinking, that she was SO nervous and couldn't stop shaking, and that she was gonna win. Lucas remembers thinking that it was super fun to have all of our parents come and support us, and that he also, wanted to win.

Lucas' First Pumpkin Painting Contest! Macie has a major love for all things tradition and festive, making yearly pumpkin painting a huge competition that is taken very seriously. Macie remembers thinking, why did this guy paint a tiger. Lucas remembers thinking that he wanted to show his creative side, but ended with the worst looking pumpkin there.

Macie and Lucas' First Group Halloween Costume! Part of Macie's traditions include a large group Halloween costume. Macie wasn't sure if Lucas knew how hard her family went, but he certainly rolled with the punches. Macie remembers thinking that she should have begged for any other character than Uncle Fester, and wondered how Lucas possibly liked her with a bald cap on. Lucas remembers thinking that it was extremely fun, that he had a great time, and that he can't wait for next year!

Macie and Lucas' First Thanksgiving! Every year Macie wakes up early to watch the parade with her turkey hat on. This year Lucas was able to partake in all the thanksgiving festivities with Macie's family.

Macie and Lucas' First Christmas Together! Lucas was forced into the matching pajamas, and was a great sport about it! Lucas has been very adaptable to Macie's traditions. Macie remembers thinking, there are few guys she could get to wear a reindeer shirt, and that she was so excited he was there. Lucas remembers thinking that he felt very included with the family, and that he was excited to change out of the reindeer shirt.

Lucas' First Cardboard Sled Race! If it wasn't clear already, Macie loves roping Lucas in her traditions. Macie always has her Dad make a sled to paint & ride with her niece Aila. For the record: Macie and Aila had the fastest sled there due to Macie's Dad's crazy antics. Macie and Aila went into the winners bracket! Macie remembers thinking that she thought it was so sweet that Lucas was getting involved and pushing her and Aila down the hill. Lucas remembers thinking that he thought he was pushing his girlfriend to her death and that he loved how involved Macie is with her nieces.

Macie and Lucas' First Vacation Together! Macie and Lucas could both describe Florida time as a look into their future. They both felt they had a perfect trip. Lucas loved their morning walks and spending loads of quality time together. Macie remembers thinking that she had to marry Lucas. That there was no other way for their relationship to go!

Lucas' First Birthday Celebration with Macie! Macie was SO excited to spend the day with Lucas. They had a perfect day planned out, and Lucas secretly had a plan to make it more perfect. Much to Macie's surprise, Lucas had planned an appointment to go ring shopping with Macie. Macie remembers thinking that she was the most blessed girl in the world, for a guy to want to spend his birthday on making her feel so special. Lucas remembers thinking that his birthday was an incredible glimpse into their future, and that he spent his day doing exactly what he wanted to do.

Macie's First Tulip Time! Macie went with Lucas' family to the famous Holland Tulip Time. They had so much fun looking at all the flowers and spending quality time together.

The beginning of the best day of Macie and Lucas' life, a Gold Medal Pickleball win! Macie woke up thinking it was just a normal day, but was determined to kick some butt in pickleball. Lucas however had a different plan for the day, and was determined to "Not start an argument with Macie all day." He was successful, and Macie and Lucas went undefeated in the tournament.

After their big gold medal win, Macie and Lucas grabbed coffee, and headed to a grad party. Macie was quite clueless, but Lucas had a huge plan. He brought Macie to her dock, and popped the big question, rendering Macie speechless for the second time in her life.

An extra special part of the engagement was a video Macie and Lucas received from his parents, who were in Africa when they got engaged. Lucas was holding back tears, and Macie was clearly letting them flow. Macie and Lucas admire his parent's marriage so much that they decided to get married on their wedding day.

It was the most perfect day in the world. Everybody put so much time and effort into making sure Macie and Lucas had a really special day. They feel so blessed to be surrounded with the most loving family and friends, and can't wait to celebrate their marriage with everyone.
