Lucas and Miranda met at the drag racing track in Earlville, Iowa, battling it out over a game of bean bags. They quickly became friends, despite the fact that Lucas couldn’t remember Miranda’s name for the life of him (apparently, she looks more like a Madison).

Fast forward, the two began trading off the four-hour drive each weekend to see each other while Miranda was finishing college, enjoying their share of concerts and never turning down a beer or two at a local brewery.

After graduating, Lucas managed to convince Miranda to move to Manchester (and even drink the occasional Busch Light). Despite buying their first home together and getting their sweet fur baby, Maggie May, a ring couldn’t possibly be in the cards until the 1990 foxbody Mustang Lucas bought was complete (jokes on him, Miranda’s dad is a racer – she knows race cars are
never done!).

In November of 2023, Lucas finally worked up the courage to propose, although Miranda gave him plenty of time to contemplate whether he was making the right decision when a normal 40-minute drive home from Oelwein turned into an hour and a half upon getting lost following Quilting Retreat. We are very excited to celebrate our love with the people that matter most to us on October 12, 2024!
