Kindly RSVP by April 23rd, 2026.
We met during move-in week of our freshman year at Mizzou, living just down the hall from each other. Starting college in the fall of 2020 was anything but typical—classes were online, events were canceled, and everyone was trying to make the best of a very unusual start. We spent countless hours talking in study rooms (with a side of studying), but Lucas made sure to keep things in the friend zone.
Things changed when Mary Jae asked Lucas to her sorority formal sophomore year. The rest of our time at Mizzou was filled with football games, formals, country concerts, late-night Andy’s runs, and some intense matches on the tennis court.
After graduating from Mizzou, we both started law school—Mary Jae stayed at Mizzou, and Lucas moved to Utah to attend BYU. Doing long distance, our relationship now consists of FaceTime calls between classes and case briefs, legal memes, and debates over hypothetical legal scenarios.
In October of 2024, during his fall break, Lucas flew back to Missouri and told Mary Jae they were going out to dinner. But before that, he made a surprise stop at Devil’s Icebox, where he had a beautiful proposal setup waiting. After she said yes, we went to D. Rowe’s—the same restaurant where we had our first official date.
Now we’re getting married, and we couldn’t be more excited to start this next chapter together. Thank you for being part of our story; we can’t wait to celebrate with you!
