2013... You read it right.. 2013!!!

Spring Break. Mullet Toss. Flora-Bama.

Clint walked in with a wide brimmed, straw hat on with his friends, and my cousin and I were sitting in the corner listening to the band play. We made eye contact, I told him I liked his hat, and the rest is history.

At the time, I lived in Lafayette and he lived in St. Amant. A few months later, he came to Lafayette for my birthday weekend and shortly after that, I moved 4 hours away back to North Louisiana. We kept in touch over the next 10 years with phone calls, texts, and a few trips to see each other here and there. In September/October of 2022, we had reconnected and I told Clint I would be coming to Lutcher for a volleyball tournament. He showed up in his Ruston red to cheer us on! After that weekend, we decided to "try" dating long distance. Seeing each other every other weekend, if not every weekend, became the new normal. It has been over a year now, and we have celebrated birthdays, been on vacations, had many firsts together, and much more!

We are opposites, yet the same. We can look at each other and know what the other one is thinking. Clint can't sit still, and I can watch movies on the couch all day. We LOVE our family and friends and the time we spend with them. Clint is the cook, and I am the baker. We both sing like professionals in the car.

I could never finish this story without saying, Clint waited a LONG 10 years to officially ask me to be his girlfriend, while I was impatiently waiting. Here we are, over a year later planning a wedding. I tried to tell him... I knew all along.
