We have discounted tickets available through Mackinac Island Ferry Company, formerly known as Star Line Ferry with the code GOLDSTEIN2024, this code you can only use at the ticket window in person, not online. They offer free day and overnight parking in a separate lot and they offer a shuttle to pick you up and take you to the ferry dock. You can also ride across with Sheplers. They offers free day parking and $20 /night for overnight. They also have a shuttle service to get you to the dock. You must save your ticket(s) for the return trip.

We do not have a preferred hotel, but we do have a room block at Mission Point Resort. You can use the link in the travel tab to view and reserve a room as well as find additional lodging recommendations.

If you are staying at Mission Point Resort, it is about a 15 minute walk from downtown. Other hotels and bed and breakfasts are closer to the docks if you would prefer to stay closer to town. If you would like to take a taxi, you can call ahead and schedule one with the Mackinac Island Taxi Company. Their phone number is: 906-847-3323.

Please give your luggage to the porters at the mainland dock. They will ask where you are staying and tag it with the appropriate hotel. A dock porter from your hotel will take your luggage and if they don't ask them to and you'll pay them a small fee of about $6-10 with a tip. If you are at Mission Point, when you reach the island, a Mission Point Dock Porter will send it up via the luggage dray to the hotel lobby. Remember that with the timing of the ferries and horse-drawn luggage vehicles, there can be a wait of up to 2 hours until your luggage arrives at your guest room (although usually much less). Please keep things that you might need, such as medication, in your hand luggage, backpack or pockets.

We love your children, but due to space restrictions we cannot accommodate everyone's children. If your child's name is not listed on the invitation, we hope you will take this opportunity to enjoy a date night or a night with friends. We appreciate you making prior arrangements!

Yes, we would recommend it if you are able! Depending what ferry line you chose it is about $16-18 round trip to bring your bike across on the ferry. It is easy to get around downtown by walking, but having a bike will allow you to explore and see more of the island. You can also rent bikes downtown from various places.
