I (Lucy) had noticed that Luke had been liking my pictures on Facebook and Instagram for a little while. I thought he was really cute, but he was younger so I was hesitant to make a move. However, after my graduation ceremony from Carson Newman on December 9th, 2023 I figured why not give it a chance and sent him a message. Luke quickly replied and even though he was going hunting that weekend we made plans to go out the following week. I was working at Morristown East and Dicks Sporting Goods at the time, so when the day of our 1st date arrived, I ended up having to work later than I originally planned at Dicks because we were in the busy season. Luke still persisted that we go out that night so even though I was a couple hours late we still went to Texas Roadhouse3 and then Sevierville to see Christmas lights. I knew I really liked him that night because I never wanted the date to end. Fortunately for me they never have to because we have a lifetime of love, dates, and memories to make ahead of us!

On December 15th I went to Luke’s house and like any usual Sunday morning we spent our morning together at church. It was definitely known that I wanted to get married, but since it was pouring rain and Luke was originally supposed to go on a hunting trip this weekend, I did not expect anything. However, after church Luke said he needed to run some things up to the tool shed so I just sat in the truck while he went in. A few minutes later he opened the doors and there was a sign that asked if I would marry him. Luke had a speech that I kind of remember, but I was just so overwhelmed with excitement and love I don’t exactly remember every detail. It was perfect though just Luke and I at the same place we had our first kiss together.
