Our Wedding

Danny and Lucy met during an orientation for their new jobs at The Olive Garden.

 She said happily "Hi! What's your name? You look sad.." all in one breath. His response was short and to the point.&nbsp;"I'm not sad. I'm Danny."













From then on Lucy had an eye on Danny.&nbsp;One rainy&nbsp;night they were closing up for the evening and she noticed him getting ready to leave, no keys in hand and no car out front waiting for him.&nbsp;













&nbsp;"Where are you going?" she said.













&nbsp;"Home."&nbsp;













&nbsp;"How are you getting there?"&nbsp;













"Walking. My grandmother lives up the road."













"No. You're going to wait for me and I will drive you home."&nbsp;













Danny waited almost an hour and a half for Lucy to finish closing up.&nbsp;When they reached his grandmother's they idled outside and talked. He&nbsp;can recall Lucy showing him her new tattoo and her saying "Relax, I'm not getting naked." Maybe this was the charm that made him fall for her.&nbsp;













The first night she brought him home would not be her last. One ride led to nearly&nbsp;10&nbsp;years of&nbsp;countless kisses, memorable dates, family gatherings, and a long list&nbsp;of&nbsp;concerts.&nbsp;This one ride home led to the beginning of their&nbsp;forever.&nbsp;

Love at First Breadstick: A Story of How We Met

After five years together Danny finally rustled up the courage to ask Lucy for her hand in marriage. It could have been the true love he felt in his heart for her or simply the fact that Lucy asked for an engagement ring for Christmas. Either way he did it.&nbsp;

Early Christmas morning in 2016 Danny got down on one knee and said "I know you asked for an engagement ring and broadway tickets for Christmas. I&nbsp;couldn't get you the broadway tickets but I got you the ring. Will you marry me, Lucy?"

With tear filled eyes she said "Yes!" while her future brother-in-law (Cory)&nbsp;feigned sleep in the recliner chair in their living room. After the engagement was announced Cory stated that he had not been sleeping at all and that he heard the whole thing!

And now,&nbsp;years later,&nbsp;they are finally getting married!

KANU is the premier dining venue at Whiteface Lodge. The head chef creates innovative American cuisine. The dining room is a spectacular Great Room with soaring,&nbsp;30-foot&nbsp;high ceilings and stone fireplaces. They&nbsp;have intimate side rooms and porches, limited outdoor seating, and classic Adirondack decor.



An open kitchen showcases the talents of KANU’s culinary team as they prepare and present a specialized menu featuring only the finest fresh regional ingredients from local farms and North American native fish and game. Each selection is carefully paired with a specific wine picked out by our sommelier to help create a unique dining experience.

Peak 47 at Whiteface Lodge

Hours:12:00-11:00pm daily. Dinner&nbsp;entrees available after 5:30pm. Peak 47 features a relaxed Adirondack atmosphere where guests can enjoy a signature cocktail and live music, or enjoy casual dining from our special Peak 47 Menu. Fireplaces, TVs, and a bistro area make this the perfect après ski, casual dining, or place for a drink at the magnificent Whiteface Lodge.

Canoe Club features light fare and which is ideal for lunch or to recharge after a swim. With sweeping views of Whiteface Mountain and the option of enjoying our delectable creations from the comfort of your chaise lounge, Canoe Club makes it easy to soak up the sun and relax with the lake’s refreshing breeze.

Brewing is handled in the&nbsp;hybrid 3.5/5 barrel brew-house, located right in the center of the&nbsp;dynamic concrete-topped bar,&nbsp;comfortable dining room, and the semi-open kitchen. With 10 beers on tap, Big Slide&nbsp;features a wide variety of styles including pale ales, IPAs, porters, stouts, and Belgian beers. 









Executive chef Greg Sherman sources most of the&nbsp;ingredients locally, and offers the freshest food in the area. This is not your typical pub grub, but it is approachable and delicious. The&nbsp;menu features&nbsp;Cake Placid pretzel nuggets with beer cheese, and tater tot poutine,&nbsp;pizzas cooked in our 700 degree brick oven,&nbsp;Tomahawk Pork Chop and&nbsp;chicken fried chicken over smoked ham grits.

The Canoe Club is an exclusive Lake Placid beachfront facility, located just down the road from the Whiteface Lodge,&nbsp;accessible by&nbsp;complimentary shuttle. This exclusive private beach is the perfect place for a family outing and offers beachside dining, along with complimentary canoes, kayaks, pedal boats, paddle boards, swimming, dining, volleyball, badminton, tetherball, bocce ball, horseshoes and life sized Jenga. Enjoy a memorable excursion on Lake Placid with one of the private motor&nbsp;boats that&nbsp;are available for rent. Each motor boat is escorted by a certified driver.

Olympic Museum is a must-see when you are in Lake Placid. Explore exhibits from both the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics, with video highlights, athletes’ memorabilia, and lots of history. It’s open daily from 10 AM till 5 PM with guided tours at 10 AM, 11:30 AM and 1 PM.

Experience the thrills of the 1980 Bobsled track, home to former generations of Olympians! A professional driver and brakeman will navigate along through the twists and turns, beginning at the half mile point!

Lake Placid Bobsled Experience

The 8-passenger Cloudsplitter Gondola takes you to the top of Little Whiteface in less than fifteen minutes. The ride takes you over ski trails, woods and scenic overlooks with breathtaking views. At the summit of Little Whiteface (3676′), an observation deck and picnic tables await.
