In March plan for weather + ski traffic.
Getting from Denver to Vail you will go over two mountain passes. Winter driving conditions may exist so please check road conditions and travel safely!
We advise people to arrive as early as possible on Friday or better yet Thursday. We do NOT recommend going up Saturday morning, there is traffic starting at 6:45am.
Sunday, if you leave before NOON you shouldn't hit traffic going back to Denver, it will just depend on flight time + weather, plan 3 hours to get from vail to DIA.
Eagle County Regional Airport
This airport is about a 40 minute drive to Vail. The public bus does pick up at this airport.
CON: More expensive to fly into
PRO: Dont have to deal with Denver traffic.
We recommend booking lodging sooner rather than later. Airbnb's split amongst a group seem to be the most reasonable. Please reach out to Lucy if you have any questions about proximity of Airbnb to ski mountain and reception. Much like Ketchum, there is a great public bus system. Parking fills up fast on the weekend and is $$ so best to be on the bus route or in walking distance of the mountain!
