A classic modern love story - Patrick and Lucy met on Tinder, speaking on the phone together before actually meeting (weird or not? The jury is still out). Their first date included Dominos, white wine and loads of Black Mirror episodes. A lot has changed since then, but the love of pizza, sav blanc and spicy telly has not.

After a short time away from each other they rekindled their relationship in London, both moving in with each other during a full blown pandemic. Paddling pools, prosecco and Paul formed the positives during a difficult time.

Together they have travelled the globe from Thailand to Kentucky, Croatia to Shrewsbury -the pair have bobbed from place to place eating wonderful food and having wonderful times - bringing Ted along for the ride.

In 2022 the pair moved back to Liverpool and got engaged. Hurrah! They moved into chez Hughes under the guidance of landowners Mr and Mrs Hughes. Christmas 2022 they both told immediate family that they planned to get wed (something that they always sort of just knew would happen and so no need for proposals).

For both Patrick and Lucy - friends and family are a really important part of who they are and what makes them tick - so the idea of having a big party with everyone they love invite is the most exciting thing in the world.

So get your glad rags on. Get ready to two-step - because 2024 is the year of the Smith-Hughes wedding.
