It all started one day in February 2022, when a friend asked Luis and Brooklyn to come to Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes with a bunch of other friends. It was there that we met each other. We exchanged contact info, but at the time neither of us really pursued anything then. We met a few more times at various young adult socials and outreach events.

One day in September, Luis decided out of the blue to invite Brooklyn to a social at St. Barnabas. She said yes, and he picked her up. We would then go together to various other events and socials around the city with some of our mutual friends.

And then, one night in January 2023, while Luis was dropping Brooklyn and another friend off from a movie night at St. Aidan, our friend suggested that we should start dating each other. Later that weekend, we started talking about the idea, and decided to give it a shot. We soon found that we really liked each other, and have been together ever since.

Soon, Luis decided that it was time to pop the question, so he planned to have a proposal at the Renew conference in November that year. It was a wild day, with Brooklyn almost sleeping in through the proposal, but everything came through, and she was greeted with a surprise with all of our close friends in attendance.

Now we are engaged and looking forward the spending the rest of our lives together. We look forward to seeing all of you on our big day!
