Our Wedding

Where it all began...

Luis and Jessica's first date was at The Retreat where they unknowingly closed out the restaurant after sitting and talking for over three hours! They had initially planned to meet for dinner but ended up meeting at the last minute later in the evening after they both had already eaten. They shared one appetizer of pieroghis over the three hour date! March 5, 2024

Luis and Jessica very quickly fell for each other... Luis on the first date and Jess on the second date. Jess quickly started introducing Luis to her friends. The first of which being her nursing school bestie Sarah over a date to the Museum of Play in Rochester March 24, 2024

The pair took a baecation together as a last hurrah before Luis got deployed. Initiallly, Luis was planning to drop off his car in Massachusetts at his close friend Ian's house. Jess heard the word Massachusetts and decided to seize the opportunity at showing Luis around one of her favorite areas in the world, New England! The romantic getaway began with a charming road trip from Providence RI all the way to Rockport MA. The trip highlights included whale watching, a sunset cruise, and most importantly Luis seeing Fenway Park for the first time! May 2024

Luis and Jessica made the very difficult decision to be challenged by a deployment mere months into dating. Luis left for Syria on June 3rd.

They came out on the other side stronger than ever! After 9 long, stressful months, Luis safely made it back to the states where they caught up on lost time celebrating Luis's birthday, Christmas, and most importantly Green Beer Sunday!

After Luis's return, the couple was able to visit Puerto Rico, Luis's home country, twice in just a few months.

The first trip was in March where Jessica met all of Luis's extended family for the first time. This was a surprise visit for Luis's family. They showed up at Luis's parents house at 2 o'clock in the morning! The reunion was very emotional as Luis had just gotten back from deployment a few weeks prior to this trip and the family had no idea that they were coming! Jess was sure that Luis was going to propose on this trip, but he was planning something entirely different!

Luis threw Jess a curveball and proposed on a hike at Taughannock Falls in Ithaca!

They took their second trip to Puerto Rico in June to celebrate Jess's and Luis's sister Jailine's birthdays which are just a few days apart!

The Ring

The Story Behind the Ring

Luis started to think about buying a ring a few months before returning from his deployment. He knew that Jess was the one. After months of searching online, visiting stores with Ian and Craig. There it was! The perfect ring for a plant lover.   Luis's take: I wanted to get her a ring that not only I loved, but that she loved too. I had to love it, because she was going to model it for me everyday.   Jess's take: I was shocked at how big it was at first! I was not expecting a big ring since I had told him not to get me a rock. My jaw was on the floor. I am obsessed with the small diamonds and the gold setting.

Our Story

*****We are held to an 80/20 rule for guests staying on the resort. That means 80% of our guests MUST stay at the resort for our wedding for a minimum of 3 nights. Stephanie and Jess met at work. They bonded over Steph being from Georgia, a state Jess adores. She is now Jess's closest friend.

Maddy and Jess met at work, bonded over shared experiences, and are now regular gym and beach partners.

Shermel was Jessica's roommate in college. Shermel and Jess bonded over wearing the same socks in their dance class.

Kenzie and Jess met at work and quickly became close friends. They no longer work together, but frequently go to the gym together.

Ian and Luis met in JRTC. They are now inseparable, especially after being deployed together.

Rein and Luis became friends naturally through the introduction by Kenzie and Jess. They share many common interest and both have science related degrees.

Gaby is one of Luis's cousins. They enjoy smack-talking each other about their cars and who would win a race if Jess ever allowed it.
