In June of 2018, Luis and Samantha's lives crossed paths, marking the start of a new beginning. On that day, Luis was passing out food samples to shoppers when he saw Samantha shopping with her mom. Luis tried to give a sample to Samantha's mom, but she turned him down and insisted to give it to Samantha instead. As Luis was going to give Samantha the sample, Luis dropped it right in front of her and it got all over Samantha's shoes. After that day, Samantha would go to HEB just to get sample from Luis and the rest is history.

Soon thereafter, Luis and Samantha began to date and get to know each other. Over the next few years, Luis and Samantha made many memories and grew stronger as a couple. Their days together were spent going to Astro's games, concerts, traveling, playing catch, and spending time with their amazing dogs Levi, Tony, and Maverick.

In April of 2022, Luis set up a private photo shoot for the both of them. Samantha thought the photoshoot was to help a friend capture photos of a couple to be used in a marketing campaign. However, that was not the case and Samantha had no idea what was really in store that day. Midway through the photo shoot Luis took a knee, holding a ring, and asked Samantha to join him on life's journey. In complete shock and overwhelmed with emotions, Samantha said 'yes' and everyone in the area watched in awe. Luis and Samantha embraced and took in this special moment.
