Before November, Luisa and Micah were little more than familiar faces at church—occasional awkward small talk, polite nods, and the mutual understanding that neither knew the other’s last name. That all changed thanks to an innocent (yet bold) sweater proposition. One Tuesday at Bible study, Luisa spotted Micah wearing a stunning brown-and-blue sweater—so stunning, in fact, that she asked, completely unprompted, if he'd be willing to trade it for one of her signature oversized sweaters. To everyone’s surprise (including probably his own), Micah agreed. A trade date was set. What began as a fashion exchange quickly turned into a shy GroupMe thread, complete with photos of Luisa styling the sweater. From there, the conversations expanded—sermons were exchanged, jokes were cracked, scripture was shared, and somewhere in the middle of it all, a sweet and unexpected friendship began to grow.

After many cozy pasta nights, daily outfit photos, countless episodes of Castle, and one unplanned election night, something deeper began to take root. Through it all, Luisa and Micah found joy not just in each other’s company, but in the quiet ways God was weaving their lives together. Then one afternoon—because who says dinner dates have to wait until evening—Micah took Luisa to a steakhouse for their first date. Over a chicken sandwich and nervous laughter, he asked if she’d like to take the next step and be his girlfriend. It was a simple, sincere moment—no grand gestures, just two people choosing to move forward together, trusting that God was in the midst of it all.

Many date nights followed—filled with Cava, painting, movie marathons, and long runs. In the midst of it all, the Lord was at work, quietly shaping a deep and steady love between Micah and Luisa. Through laughter, conversation, and time spent together, they grew in grace—encouraging one another, sharpening one another, and learning how to love with patience and purpose.

Their love continued to blossom, and at his sister's wedding, Micah realized he wanted to spend forever serving the Lord with Luisa. They went ring shopping on Easter weekend, and then the wait began.

On June 7, 2025 Micah took Luisa up to the Swanson cabin with their best friends. While on a tour of the property, Micah walked Luisa down by the lake where he proposed! Luisa was so excited to say yes! Now, with grateful hearts and a deep love for one another, Micah and Luisa look ahead to a lifetime of walking with Christ, hand in hand. Their greatest desire is not just to build a happy life, but a holy one—to encourage each other in faith, to serve their community with compassion, and to reflect Christ’s love in all they do. As they prepare for marriage, they cling to the truth of Ecclesiastes 4:12 (ESV): “And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Together, they trust that the Lord, who brought their paths together, will lead them forward with purpose, joy, and unwavering grace.
