(Molly's Perspective)

After years of going to church together at Perry Chapel Baptist Church, Luke and I had our first real interaction in high school during a Christmas caroling event. I’ll never forget that night—he gave me his gloves when my hands were cold and then asked for my number at the end of the night. I gave it to him, not realizing how much that moment would change my life. We were only 14, but something about our connection was so immediate that it felt like we’d known each other for a lifetime.

On January 12, 2019, we went on our first date—ice skating! Even though both of us were a little wobbly on the ice, it was so much fun and such a sweet memory. By February of that year, we made it official and started dating. From that point on, Luke became my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the person I couldn’t wait to share everything with.

Over the years, we’ve created so many memories together and shared a lot of ups and downs. We have made so many traditions together such as visiting the KOA sunflower festival every summer, carving pumpkins in the fall, baking cookies and decorating gingerbread houses each Christmas season, and frequenting our favorite ramen restaurant and dessert spots. We have laughed lots, shared so many of our big milestones (getting our driver's licenses, graduating high school, and more!), and walked through every season of life hand in hand. Whether we’re visiting a favorite spot on date night or hanging out with family, being with Luke always feels like home.

On July 2, 2024, Luke asked me to marry him at one of our special date spots—the waterfall at Honey Run in Gambier. It was such a beautiful and unforgettable moment and I said yes (of course). Flash forward to now and we are preparing for our biggest adventure yet: marriage. After years of growing together, I can’t wait to start this new chapter as husband and wife and continue building a life full of love and laughter.
