Once upon a time, in the land of “I'm Never Going to Find Love,” two hopeless individuals embarked on individual journeys to the world of online dating. One by one, they sifted through various profiles in hopes of finding a decent match. Some looked promising, most were quite concerning.


The future was looking bleak in the land of “I’m Never Going to Finding Love” until the young woman found a fair looking young man who immediately caught her attention with his voice note quoting Frozone's iconic dialogue with his wife, the greatest goooood [he was] ever gonna get. He obviously had great taste in movies, so that was a check in a box. After reading his bio and seeing his love of the Lord shine through the text, she knew she had to swipe right, cast her line, and hope she would get a bite. Hope began to reignite within her...


Meanwhile, the man was in the pit of despair and wasn't even thinking about escaping it. Until one day, he saw a young beautiful strawberry blonde come across his profile. Although she peaked his interest, the same hope that reignited in her did NOT reignite in his own heart. In fact, her profile led him to believe that there was about half a percent chance that a relationship with her would work out given the distance between them. After all, she was 600 miles away as the crow flies so really, it seemed more like a zero percent chance that it would work out. But he decided to match anyway...


Boy, was he in for a surprise!


Excited that she appeared to have caught him on her line, she waited with great anticipation for him to make the first move because it's the man's job, right? Wrong. An apparent glitch in the system gave the illusion that the young man had reached out to the young maiden first causing her to reply. After doing so, it was revealed that what appeared to be a message was in fact an overlay of the man's biography in the chat box. Nonetheless, contact was made. The two spoke for a few days and it was pretty ok. Until it wasn't. After a moment of miscommunication, the young man got ghosted after just 3 days...


After a year of silence, on March 2nd 2024, the young maiden full of hopelessness now more than ever, decided on a whim to revisit past conversations and matches where she came across the young man's profile once more, this time new and improved. Filled with guilt for leaving him on read without explanation, she took another shot and reached out a second time, this time apologizing for her once judgmental and semi-rude ways. To her surprise, the young man replied the same day!


That was the start, and after the first heart-to-heart conversation about the Lord (which included worship) suddenly, hope was set ablaze!


Consistent time together has shown us both that God has chosen each for the other. Challenge, encouragement, and delight have marked our journey these past months.
