Kayla's version

summer of 2018- a friend of mine at the time introduced me to her boyfriend..... enter in luke del guidice. our friend group was inseparable as we navigated our first year of college. that spring, this luke del guidice was newly single.....

september 2019- luke and I went on a mission trip to uganda, africa and you know how it goes... mission trip.. orphan children... the lord... happily ever after. well yes and no. we get back from mission trip- everything is the same but sparks were flying (for me) and i had 0 idea if he had the same feelings.

september 2020- still friends but we are hanging out more just the two of us and me (the counselor) needs *clarity* from mr. luke del guidice. so we sit down for a coffee date and i communicate i need *clarity* and he states that he is not in the place to be in a relationship. I shut down (per usual) and then coffee ended and we parted ways. (ps we remember this VERY differently)

september 2021- after confessing our feelings for one another at our friends wedding.... (thank u brooke and mitchell) we officially became boyfriend + girlfriend (finally)

fast forward to now, 3 years together and a life time to go :)

Kayla and I have been friends for six years now. We met when she moved to Jacksonville in 2018 to go to school at UNF to become a nurse and I stayed here after I graduated. We either met for the first time at the Beach Church intern houses or at student ministry (this is hotly debated).

After that initial meeting we hung out a lot with our group of friends, and after a lot of late night mario kart tournaments, hamster funerals, and ice cream runs we realized we would be a good team. This was until we got coffee and Kayla told me we shouldn’t date, (but this is also hotly debated and we remember this meeting very differently.)

Fast forward to 2021, I was helping her hang up a lot of pictures at her appartment and then our friends Brooke & Mitchell got married which encouraged us to change our minds. There’s something about weddings I guess (I’m looking at you single people).

3 years, a couple trips across the country, kayla losing a lot at cards (another hotly debated detail), good days, hard days and everything in between, here we are! Long story short - we would love for you guys to celebrate with us, and do something weird in jax.
