Our story differs depending on who you ask.

If you ask Lauren, she will tell you that one hot June day in 2020, her and her mom, Randi, decided to stop into Wissahickon Brewing Co for a refreshing round of beers. Randi had been a regular there for a couple of years and had gotten to know the Gill family through passing pleasantries. Luke approached their table to say hello and see if the pair needed anything. Instantly, Lauren fell head over heels. What should have been a 30-second check-in turned into an afternoon of getting to know each other. Luke mentioned in passing that the brewery was looking to hire more bartenders and without batting an eye, Lauren expressed interest with the sole intent of finding a way to Luke's heart. It didn't take long until her dream became a reality as the pair shared their first kiss behind the bar weeks later. To this day, she still considers this to be her best-laid plan.

Luke will tell you a very similar story, however his intentions in hiring Lauren were also skewed. Up to that point, he vowed to only bring on experienced bartenders. So when he hired an Eagles Cheerleader who had never poured a beer in her life, his best friend Mark caught onto his plan and rooted for the pair since the beginning. Luke & Lauren began to date “secretly” to which they found was no secret at all — apparently their love & affection was hard to hide from the staff!

Five years later & they are still slinging beers together behind the bar, raising their 17lb house cat appropriately named Chonky, spending time with their amazing friends & families, & loving each other more & more every day. They can’t wait to celebrate with you on June 7th. Go Birds!
