If you would have told Luke he would meet his future wife in the Wrigley field bleachers, he would not have believed you. But that’s exactly where he met Brianna September 15th, 2018. Brianna was a junior at Augustana college while Luke was also a junior but at ISU. The two found out about the other through a mutual friend who knew Brianna by going to school with her at Augie. That friend is, to this day, one of Luke and Brianna’s closest friends and happens to be Luke’s best man (the least he could do for him). The cubs game that day ended up being an extremely boring 1-0 cubs victory. Luke shared fries with Brianna but like the game, he was very quiet and boring. Brianna was questioning whether she’d be able to handle a 3 hour bus ride back to the quad cities with him. That bus ride, however, is where the two talked and talked and really got to know each other a bit. After learning Brianna was a recent gecko owner, Luke used the ever so common “when I come back to Augie I’ll want to see your gecko so can I have your number?” pick up line. The rest was history. A couple weeks later, Luke visited Brianna at Augie and when he showed up he discovered Brianna dressed as the Tin man for one of her sorority events. They took their first photo together featuring Brianna as the tin man, and Luke proceeded to send that picture to his family which was their first exposure to Bri! Luke would spend the next several weekends visiting car-less Brianna at Augie. He officially asked her to be his girlfriend on October 21st, 2018 while on a walk on the slough path at Augie. Over the following years the two spent most of their relationship 2-3 hours apart but they claimed that made their hearts grow fonder. Life has thrown them all sorts of curveballs since they’ve been together. Some of their highest highs and some of the lowest lows. However, the love they have for each other has been a constant. The two are excited to tie the knot with you all! They’ve been blessed with so many awesome friends and family and everyone on their wedding night has a part in their story.
