Our Wedding

Luke and Serenity’s story is a beautiful reminder that God is always at work, even when we cannot yet see what He is doing. “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but the Lord directs his steps” (Proverbs 16:9). Luke, a Louisiana native with no intention of ever leaving home, and Serenity, who grew up in San Antonio and fully expected to stay there, never imagined their paths would lead them to Houston. Yet the Lord had already written a different story.Their paths crossed at Founders Baptist Church in Spring, Texas—where Luke’s brothers quickly decided that they had “found a wife for Luke.” From the very beginning, Luke and Serenity shared an easy, genuine friendship that soon grew into something more. What started simply as time spent together blossomed into a joyful season of dating, marked by laughter, shared faith, and a deepening love for one another.Serenity was warmly welcomed into Luke’s family, who quickly came to adore her and are often competing for her attention. Luke’s youngest brother, Sam, is especially convinced that he should be included on their dates—and sometimes, he is.With a shared commitment to Christ and a deep love for one another, Luke and Serenity are joyfully choosing a marriage with God at the center. Their relationship is a beautiful picture of God’s sovereignty—bringing together two hearts from different places and weaving them into one. As they look ahead to marriage, they are filled with gratitude for the Lord’s kindness in their lives and excited to begin this next chapter together.
