Emily and Luke met at the beginning of their sophomore year of college at DBU. They both worked the welcome week called "SWAT" and became friends.

After the first week they met, Luke had asked Emily to help lead worship for the college ministry at First Baptist Irving, since she had just started attending that summer.

As time went on, more hangouts occurred which lead to them starting a softball intramural team with their friends. This is where Luke says "it all began" hahaha!

Luke finally asked Emily out on a date after their college ministry fall retreat where they lead worship together all weekend!

The night before their first date, Luke and Emily went to Billy Bob's to country dance with their friends. Luke taught Emily to two-step and she was so nervous that she looked down the whole time...oops!:)

The next day, they went on their first date where they ate at Babe's, walked around a park, and talked for hours.

After a month of going on dates and getting to know each other better, Luke asked Emily to be his girlfriend!

Luke went on vacay with the Tye fam! Emily was sick the whole time and Luke impressed the Tye's with his gentleness, patience, and care for Emily! (she is very needy when sick...) The Tye fam knew that Luke was a keeper after that week! :)

A whole year of dating!! Luke and Emily enjoyed many sweet & silly times as they grew their relationship! :)

A monumental moment in their relationship when Luke took Emily hunting for the first time...Emily wasn't tooooo grossed out! Luke knew that she was the one!

The fam's finally met!!! Things were getting seriousssss...

Luke and Emily are so thankful for being able to attend, grow, and serve together at First Irving throughout their relationship! So many faithful, older couples helped them to glorify the Lord throughout their relationship. This church family has truly been a blessing!

At last, Luke finally proposed to Emily on his birthday! He said it was the best birthday gift he could have ever received! :) Oh yeah, and Emily said yes if you didn't know... :)
