Things to Do

Cuchara

214 Fairview St, Houston, TX 77006, USA
(713) 942-0000

Authentic Mexico City cuisine. Definitely more on the pricey side and 100% worth it. Try their spicy margs and chocolate cake. And the guac. It's spicy, but you gotta live a little.

Website

Niko Niko's

2520 Montrose Blvd, Houston, TX 77006, USA
(713) 528-4976

American greek food approved by legit greeks.

Velvet Taco

907 Westheimer Rd Ste A, Houston, TX 77006, USA
(713) 370-8226

Easy and quick tacos. Bomb flavors, unique pairings and just good. Do it.

Pondicheri

2800 Kirby Dr b132, Houston, TX 77098, USA
(713) 522-2022

Amazing indian food. Clean ingredients, pretty space. Get the Texas Thali. There is also Pondi Bake Lab upstairs for excellent desserts and lunch. Don't bother with the funky, instagram-looking restaurant with all the butterflies on it across the street. You'll pay an arm and a leg and some shoulder for a steak that our dog could cook better. We've never been there. So we know best.

CRÚ Food & Wine Bar

2800 Kirby Dr B-130, Houston, TX 77098, USA
(713) 528-9463

If you like wine and cheese just find yourself here. Right next to Pondi too.

Postino Heights

642 Yale St, Houston, TX 77007, USA
(346) 223-1111

There are a few Postinos, so check out which one is closest to you. Another great wine and cheese (and meatball) place.

Local Foods - The Heights

714 Yale St suite 1a, Houston, TX 77007, USA
(713) 360-6133

The Banh Mi here is excellent. Just watch the jalapenos because they don't mess around here and for some reason these jalapenos are always grown by the devil himself. If you like spice, then ignore. Otherwise remove the jalaps and do not remove your contacts with the same fingers that night.

Brookstreet Bar-B-Q

1009 Missouri St, Houston, TX 77006, USA
(713) 234-3165

Get the Pick 3 meats. It's a better deal. Or do whatever you want. It's all good.

Brasil

Brasil, 2604 Dunlavy St, Houston, TX 77006, USA
(713) 528-1993

Best brunch in Houston. Clean ingredients, patios, sometimes 2 funny dogs. The steak and eggs here rock. You can't go wrong with the Brasil Benedict and the pancakes are pretty much shove-in-face worthy.

Agora

1712 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77098, USA

Coffee shop. Wine too. Mainly just a solid coffee shop for everyone. You'll see a lot of med students studying. Also some chain smoking, sandal-wearing, philosophy-discussing folk who are somehow always there and always able to afford coffee. There are Topo Chicos too, so it's not THAT hippie dippie. It's a good time.

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery

3217 Montrose Blvd Suite 100, Houston, TX 77006, USA
(713) 574-6655

Basic bomb brunch. No need to be cultured coming here. Just hungry. Usually poppin', so look up your location because there are a few.

Ramen Tatsu-ya

1722 California St, Houston, TX 77006, USA
(737) 340-0989

It's no Wagamama or Ippudo, but very very tasty. You may fall asleep after though, so do not eat before our wedding.

Soto Houston

224 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77006, USA
(713) 485-4514

If you really want to ball out, come here. Some of the best sushi ever. If Halina were invisible for one day, she would come here and steal all the fish.
