Luke and Savannah met at Wayne State College. They were introduced through mutual friends in January of 2017. Luke took Savannah on their FIRST EVER date to Sakura in Norfolk, NE. (HUGE sushi lovers) followed by ice cream afterwards.

March of 2017

The two celebrated Luke's 22nd birthday with their friends. At the end of the night he popped the question and asked Savannah to be his girlfriend.

Our personalities have always clicked. We share the same interests of adventures. During the summer of 2017, we traveled to Utah with my (Savannah's) family. For the first time ever, we succeeded a long hike up Bald Mountain.

July of 2020

Savannah and Luke decided to make a second trip to Bald Mountain. After an exhausting hike, they reached the top of the mountain. The two posed for a picture looking off into the beautiful scenery ahead. Savannah turned around, suddenly speechless. Before her eyes, Luke was down on one knee with a beautiful ring in his hand.

Of course, I said yes! We returned to Nebraska as an engaged couple.

We have been through so much together, but wouldn't want to experience this life with anyone else. We can't wait for our future as Mr. and Mrs. Rethwisch.
