Luke and Megan originally met at Glory Church where they both had recently committed to joining. After their first conversation they seemed so familiar to each other but could not figure out why. It turns out that they happened to be at a friend gathering earlier that month and never officially met. It was not until a month later when Megan happened to join the same small group as Luke and realized that they worked at the same job at different times and had an extensive pool of mutual friends. Members of that small group soon began to comment that "sparks were flying", because they always managed to be the last two people to leave as they were lost in conversation. After several weeks of this, they both realized that they were separately invited to a mutual friend’s 4th of July party. At the end of that night, Luke asked Megan if she would like to get tacos with him. Unbeknownst to Megan, Luke told his friend later that night and said that this was going to be the last first date he ever goes on. As they began dating, they were so surprised at how their lives, values, and dreams aligned. They began growing closer and meeting each other's friends and families.

On April 22nd, Luke surprised Megan with the help of her coworkers by making a fake work dinner party. In all actuality, Luke took Megan to the town of Kansas Bridge (the location of their first date). He got down on one knee and asked her to marry him and… she said yes! They then celebrated with a small group of friends and family nearby!
