Lukis and Madison met in Mount Pleasant, MI in October 2019 when Lukis offered Madison a drink. Lukis was traveling for the union and was working near the area. Madison was going to Central Michigan University for her Bachelor's Degree.

Madison worked part time at Texas Roadhouse as a waitress. Lukis and his coworkers would dine in at Texas Roadhouse many nights of the week. Especially for Margarita Mondays! Lukis and Madison always had an eye on each other but both were too shy to say hello.

Lukis and Madison had mutual friends and would often run into each other at the bars in downtown Mount Pleasant, the famous O'Kelly's, or even the Soaring Eagle Casino.

Madison finally had the courage to come up to Lukis and spark a conversation again. Lukis was heading back home to Illinois that very next day. Madison told him she had her eye on him for a while and he had to stay!

Weeks later Madison had spring break. She asked Lukis if he'd like to go on a road trip with her for the week. She mentioned to her family she was taking this guy she just met on a road trip. Indeed her mom was very shocked by this. Madison told her, "he's got a great personality it'll be fine!" She drove to Herrick, Illinois to pick him up for their road trip. Throughout the week, they traveled through Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida together.

After 4 years of dating, during another one of their spontaneous road trips in July 2024 at Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky, Lukis finally asked Madison to marry him and she said yes!

Lukis and Madison have traveled to 19 out of the 50 United States and plan to travel to them all! They love taking road trips together and bringing their four legged pup, Moose along.

Lukis and Madison believe that the best things in life can come from the craziest ideas.
