Nuestra historia: John y Lupe.
 Nos graduamos de la clase 2016 en la escuela secundaria Newark Memorial. Nunca nos cruzamos realmente, pero éramos amigos mutuos en las redes sociales. Sin saber que Vivíamos a solo 5 minutos del uno al otro, por casualidad terminamos enterando en el mismo gimnasio.

Todo comienza el 14 de noviembre de 2022. Yo Lupe, pensaba que sería una idea divertida gastar dinero en otra membresía de gimnasio. Es importante saber esta parte de la historia, ya que estaba trabajando en un gimnasio en ese tiempo y Ya tenía una membresía gratuita. 
AHORA, Antes de que me juzgues lo estaba haciendo por una buena causa. Una amiga cercana me pidió que la ayudara con su estado físico. Así que lo hice. Ahí vamos a inscribirnos en el fitness 19 de Newark, el gimnasio más nuevo que está convenientemente cerca de mi casa. 

Por la buena causa que apoyé, me gusta creer que es por eso que Dios me bendijo con todo por lo que había rezado: Un hombre musculoso de caballo largo.

Sus primeras palabras a mí fueron; “Hola, extraña.”

Y Mira, ir a un gimnasio nuevo por primera vez en realidad resulta ser una de las experiencias más aterradoras que experimenta el ser humano. Es por eso que la mayoría deja de ir al gimnasio demasiado pronto. Sin embargo en mi experiencia si puedes superar este miedo, significa que eres más fuerte de lo que crees. Alcanzarás tus metas de estado físico en poco tiempo. Eso es lo que intenté decirle a mi amiga Pero mira como Dios hace las cosas, mi amiga dejó de ir. 

Ahora tenía que ir yo sola al nuevo gimnasio espantoso. 
Pero tenía dos opciones, seguirle con el gimnasio y hacer que valga la pena incluso con la oportunidad de hacer nuevos amigos.
o renunciar y cancelar mi membresía.
La verdad ya Había sufrido cansadamente de depresión durante mucho tiempo y había tenido suficiente. Estaba cansada. Era hora de luchar y disfrutar de la vida.

Fue casi como si el día en que finalmente decidí que recuperaría el control de mi vida, Dios estaba allí. Fue totalmente fuera de carácter, tal vez incluso una experiencia fuera del cuerpo en la que Jesús tomó el volante. 
Decidí hablarle al musculoso de cabello largo y le pregunté si podía entrenar con él. 
Imagínate eso. Yo que pesaba 120 libras, con Pelo rojo preguntándole a un tipo que levantaba 225 libras si podía entrenar con él y su intimidante amigo fuerte con pelo azul. 
Si que Estaba loca, Ni siquiera podía levantar la barra sin pesas. Qué me dio la confianza? Ilusión? 
NO. 
estaba intentando a vivir.

Ambos Se sorprendieron que si apareciera para entrenar con ellos por primera vez. No sé por qué... si Hablaba en serio! 
Afortunadamente, todos terminamos llevándonos muy bien y entrenábamos todos los días, creo que eso los obligó a ser mis amigos.
Después de un par de meses tratando de conseguir la atención del Musculoso de cabello largo, simplemente no lo conseguía. Lo que por cierto, hizo que mis compañeros de trabajo en el gimnasio muy cansados de que les siguiera preguntando si a este tipo posiblemente le gustaba. 

Aunque digan que las mujeres no deben de perseguir, Para nada estoy avergonzada porque Cuando alguien sabe lo que quiere, debería ir por ello. Así que, si todavía estás leyendo esto: esta es tu señal para hacer lo que siempre has querido hacer. Tómate esas vacaciones, si amas a alguien házselo saber, emborráchate esta noche! 
Lo Digo porque justo cuando me estaba rindiendo y dejando que mis otros amigos de mala influencia me ocupen el tiempo, John Samorano: (que por cierto es el musculoso de caballo largo) me rescata! Comienza a responder. Y a responder realmente. Él respondía a mis historias de Instagram, a mis pistas, incluso responde a la idea de pasar más tiempo juntos fuera del gimnasio.

Milagro! Incluso mi canción favorita en ese momento era; Miracle de Calvin Harris y Ellie Goulding.
Empezamos a pasar tiempo en un grupo de amigos, y finalmente un día me acompaña solo a la cabana (un restaurante mexicano) A pesar de que ya había cenado, se encuentra conmigo allí y pide una bebida muy masculina. Una cerveza. Ahora se que realmente le encantan las mismas bebidas dulces igual a mi. Pero tengo mucho respeto a esa cerveza, por convencerle a John que por fin preguntará por mi número.

Dijo que Solo preguntó porque quería enseñarme a jugar al ajedrez en los juegos de iPhone, y sí, siempre había querido aprender a jugar ajedrez. O al menos eso es lo que le dije y también es la razón por cual hasta el día de hoy todavía no sé cómo jugar ajedrez 
pero si tengo un prometido. 💍

A medida que nos conocemos, me pide que sea su San Valentín, ese día me dejo un gran arreglo floral de rosas rojas, el primero de muchos. Como cada mes, sin falta sigue haciéndome sentir hermosa con arreglos florales únicos.

Las cosas parecían demasiado buenas para ser verdad, ya que me invitó a conocer su familia muy pronto. En las primeras semanas. Nadie había hecho eso, y me impresionó mucho. Incluso empecé a pensar que probablemente era una trampa porque su familia terminó siendo demasiado increíble. Hasta me enamoré.

Conocer a su amable y acogedora familia de inmediato me hizo sentir que John era un tipo honesto en cual podía Confiar.

No me arrepiento de haberlo hecho porque exactamente 3 años después de conocernos, nos casáremos.

Our story: John and Lupe. 
We both graduated class of 2016 at Newark Memorial High School.
 Never really crossing paths, but mutuals on social media.
 Living just 5 minutes away from each other, we just happened to end up going to the same gym.


It all starts on November 14, 2022. I, Lupe thought it would be a fun idea to spend money on yet another gym membership. It’s important to know this part of the story since I was working at a gym at the time. I already had a free membership. 

NOW before you judge me, I was doing it for a good cause. A close friend asked me to help her out with her fitness journey. So I did, there we go signing up to Fitness 19 in Newark, the newest gym conveniently close to my house. For the good cause that I supported, I like to believe that’s why God blessed me with everything I’ve ever prayed for: 
a muscular man with a ponytail. 

His first words to me were;
“Hey stranger.”

Look, going to a new gym for the first time, actually happens to be one of the scariest experiences the average human being experiences. That is why most give up on the gym too soon.
Yet in my experience, if you can get past this fear it means you are stronger than you think. You’ll reach your fitness goals in no time.
That’s what I tried to tell my friend 
but as God's plan goes she stops going and there I was having to go to the new scary gym alone. 

Ultimately I had two choices, keep going to this gym and make it worth it by making new friends, or quit and cancel my membership.
I had tiredly suffered with depression for a long time and that was enough. I was tired of quitting. It was time to let myself enjoy life and put myself out there.


 It was almost like the day I finally decided I would take back control of my life, God was there.
 It was out of character, maybe even an out-of-body experience where Jesus took the wheel. 
I went up to the muscular guy with a ponytail and asked him if I could work out with him.
Imagine this, I was 120 lb with burgundy hair asking a guy who benches 225 if I could work out with him and his intimidating strong friend with blue hair.
I couldn’t even bench the bar. What gave me the confidence? Delusion? No. I was trying here. 

They were surprised I even showed up to work out with them the first time. Idk why… I was serious! 
Luckily we all end up getting along and working out together every day which forced them to be friends with me. 
After a couple of months of trying to get Mr. Ponytail-muscles to get the hint, he just wasn’t. Which by the way made my coworkers at 24-hour fitness tired of me asking them if this guy possibly liked me back.

 No, I’m not embarrassed. When someone knows what they want they should go for it. 
So, if you’re still reading this: this is your sign to do the thing you’ve always wanted to do. Take that vacation, if you love someone let them know, get drunk tonight! 
I say that because just as I was giving up and letting my other bad influence friends waste my time, John Samorano: (who happens to be Mr. Ponytail muscles of course!) saves me. He starts to respond. No like actually respond. He responds to my Instagram stories, to my hints, and he even responds to the idea of spending more time together outside of the gym.

Miracle! Oddly, my favorite song at the time was Miracle by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding. 
We start hanging out as a group of friends, and eventually he joins me just by himself at La Cabaña (a Mexican restaurant down the street)
Even though he had already eaten dinner he meets me there and orders a very masculine drink. A beer. 
Although now I know he enjoys yummy cocktails like me I still have a lot of respect for that beer. The 
Liquid courage that made him finally ask for my number. 
He claimed he was only asking because He wanted to teach me how to play chess on iPhone games, and yes I’ve always wanted to learn how to play chess. Or at least that’s what I told him and why to this day I don’t know how to play, but I do have a fiancé.
As we get to know each other he asks me to be his Valentine, that day he brings a big flower arrangement of red roses, the very first of many. Each month without fail, he continues to make me feel beautiful with unique flower arrangements.


Things seemed too good to be true, as he invited me to meet his family very soon. The first few weeks. No one had ever done that, I was very impressed and even started thinking it was probably a trap bc his family ended up being amazing and I fell in love. (with his family first, ironically) 
Meeting his friendly and welcoming family right away made me trust that John was an honest guy I could take a chance on. 
I am really glad I did because exactly 3 years after meeting, we are getting married.
