Our Wedding

Hello to all of our friends and family! Bobby and I are so excited to celebrate our special day with all of you! A LITTLE BACKGROUND... Bobby was born and raised in Lexington, South Carolina, right outside of Columbia with his brother Joseph. After graduating from Lexington High School, he went on to get his degree in History at the University of South Carolina. He graduated in 2016 and then moved to Greenville, SC for about 5 years before returning to Columbia to settle down (yes, the boy is OLD! 🤪). Bobby now works as a Land Agent for Dominion Energy. I (Lydia) was born right outside of Pittsburgh, PA. We moved around a couple of times during my childhood and lived in Ogden, Utah, Blythewood, South Carolina, and settled back in Pennsylvania in a small town called Mars. After graduating from High School in 2017, I also attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC, and received a degree in Hospitality Management. I also lived in Greenville, SC from 2021-2023 before taking a job back here in Columbia as the Special Events Manager at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. HOW WE MET... After a long day planning events, my friends somehow convinced me to go to a line dancing class at a little bar in downtown Columbia called the Carolina Western Pub. I had just told all my friends that I was going to take a break from dating and focus on myself for the time being. Little did I know, Bobby would pop into my life that night. He decided to go to the pub that evening as well with his friend Elliott. I was standing off to the side watching my friends dance when he walked up to me and immediately started a conversation (if you know Bobby, you know he can pretty much talk to ANYTHING living or dead). I knew at that moment that a true friendship was beginning to form. I invited him to our family tailgate spot for that weekend's USC game and we haven't left each other's sides since. DATING... Our relationship started out with a bump in the road when I was admitted to the hospital for about three weeks in October of 2023 with a bad case of mono. I think I knew Bobby was the one when he came to visit me every night while I was there and not only comforted me but was there for my parents also to help take some of the load off of them. From that point on we rarely left each other alone. Neither of us had ever been in a relationship where we wanted to spend so much time with the other person, but I do not think either of us could imagine not seeing each other each and every day. In January 2024, after dating for about 3.5 months, I somehow convinced Bobby to let us get a dog together, and I even let Bobby name him. As much as he will deny the fact now, Bobby was very hesitant about getting him. Still, Rudy came home with us and has totally fallen in love with Bobby. From chasing each other in the backyard to taking Rudy to the dog park, those two have become fast friends and are totally attached at the hip. Rudy has become a very important part of our relationship and we are not sure what we ever did without him. We have also gone on so many trips, that I am not sure I can even keep count anymore. From long car rides to Pittsburgh, to the several trips to the beach, to the mountains of North Carolina, to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to cheer on our Gamecocks, there is no one I'd rather travel with than Bobby (especially because he drives everywhere 😉). He somehow figures out how to make every trip better than the last. Bobby is really one of the best guys I have ever met and getting to be his girlfriend for a year and a half has truly been a blessing. Bobby and I got engaged on December 29th, 2024 inside the Duquesne Incline in Pittsburgh, PA. It was the most beautiful setting and I am so excited to call him my fiance for the next year! He is so patient, humble, kind, and above all else, he is going to make the best husband. We are so excited to get married and spend the rest of our lives together.

Mallory and I met at USC and bonded over our love of Gamecock football. From tailgates to late-night study dates, to picking me up from my lowest points, Mallory has been the most amazing southern friend a girl could ask for.

Olivia and I met in the 5th grade and have been friends ever since. We have loved being a part of each other's lives through all of the different seasons.  I could not imagine this day without her.

Rebecca was my first friend when I went to USC. Fun fact is that she lived right down the road from me and went to the same high school as me for a year. Rebecca embraces my crazy and has become a lifelong friend and someone I can always count on in Columbia!

Baylee and I met at my job at the Convention Center in Columbia and immediately hit it off. We bonded over our mutual love for Pittsburgh, being that we were both from there. She has become such an amazing, loyal friend, and I am so happy to have her in my life.

I met Megan through competitive cheerleading in 2011, as she was my "big sister" that year on the team. Though SEC rivalry may make us enemies, Megan and I have been close friends, and I am so happy to have her on my side for the big day!

Approximately 20 minutes outside of downtown Pittsburgh, the airport is extremely accessible to all locations for sight seeing and the wedding. Uber and taxis are easy to find in Pittsburgh, but if you want, you can rent a car right outside of the airport terminal.

This is a must visit when in Pittsburgh around Christmas time!

Every year from&nbsp;mid November until late February, the Plaza between Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue transforms into&nbsp;The UPMC Rink at PPG Place.&nbsp;It is a spectacular, one-of-a-kind, outdoor ice skating rink in the center of the PPG Plaza, which is the Crown Jewel of the Pittsburgh skyline, and adjacent to Market Square.&nbsp;At the center of the rink is the famous holiday Christmas Tree.&nbsp;Be sure to go inside PPG Place, adjacent to the rink, and see the gingerbread house displays and Santas from all around the world!

Pittsburgh is the place of Andy Warhol’s birth, and The Andy Warhol Museum holds the largest collection of Warhol’s artworks and archival materials. They are&nbsp;one of the most comprehensive single-artist museums in the world and the largest in North America.

Primanti's is home to the famous "Pittsburgher" sandwich with french fries and coleslaw pilled high on soft Italian bread. The location in the Strip District is the original, opened in 1933. the sandwich is their #2 best seller, behind a Pittsburgh classic, an IC Light beer! Grab both and then go take a walk through The Strip. Locals love it for its low, low prices and tremendous selections. The one-half square mile shopping district is chock full of ethnic grocers, produce stands, meat and fish markets, and sidewalk vendors. Bordering Downtown, this neighborhood is pure Pittsburgh.

The incline transports over half a million passengers a year between the upper terminal at Grandview Ave. and the lower, at Carson Street. Pittsburgh is renowned for its spectacular cityscape views, and there are no better places to experience them from than the upper stations of The Incline. Exact Cash is required to ride, but do not worry; its only a couple dollars round trip! Fun Fact: This is where Bobby and I got engaged in December 2024!
