In September 2019, Lydia had a date scheduled with Sumit. She considered skipping out because she was tired and thought Sumit looked like a player. Her friend convinced her otherwise.

Their first date was at a little Italian restaurant in Brooklyn. Sumit ordered the fish, and they brought a whole fish out, scales, fins, eyes and all. He was so cute and embarrassed and Lydia fell head over heels for him right then.

Flash forward to March 2020. They'd been dating for a few months and decided to take a trip to Miami together. Dia joked that the four-day trip would be the longest time spent together yet. While there, Covid-19 hit. When they came back to Brooklyn, everything was in lockdown. Thus began a trial by fire.

Lydia basically lived at Sumit's place and they survived lockdown together in a tiny New York apartment with four people. Sumit likes to joke that it's the longest four days ever.

A few years later, ones filled with laughter, celebrations, two cats, and trips they finally made it to India to meet Sumit's family and get engaged.
