Just over 10 years ago, on the day Garrett and Lydia moved onto Ball State’s campus, their parents — Bryan, Julee, Kirk, and Nanci — gathered to reminisce of their own time in Muncie (three of whom lived in that very same residence hall, DeHority, 25 years before).As their parents shared laughs and memories of times gone by, Lydia and Garrett shared their first moment together. But that was about it — just a moment. For the next four years, the two would mostly know of each other only in passing.&nbsp;By the fall of 2020, something special brought them back together. Not fate, but something even more powerful; they both needed to find a job.&nbsp;In the hallways and makeshift classrooms of Muncie’s Maring-Hunt Library, Lydia and Garrett worked together in an after-school program for at-risk and in-need elementary students.&nbsp;Through the incredible stress of the job — and the mounting pressure of a raging pandemic — Garrett and Lydia found in one another a friend. A friend to listen to, to communicate with, to laugh with.&nbsp;In that classroom, the two had many deep conversations, ranging from their favorite musical instruments to why the world was the way it was.By the time the school year came to a close and the job was over, Lydia and Garrett were determined to continue their friendship, neither of them knowing in any way how far it would take them. From moments at the Muncie batting cages to beers at the Fickle Peach, the two of them found a growing and genuine connection — one neither wanted to give up.&nbsp;It’s been more than four years since, and that time has marked three different cities, three apartments, a shy, personable, and very lovable cat, the stresses of careers, the loss of family members, and the addition of entirely new ones.Through it all, they’ve found each other. And in the end, that’s what they were looking for.To honor their time and those that came before, Lydia and Garrett have chosen to come back to the place it started — the City of Love, Muncie, Indiana. They hope that you’ll find what you’re looking for there, too.

Ceremony - 4:30 p.m.

The wedding ceremony will be held in the Heritage Room at Muncie's Cornerstone Center for the Arts.

Cocktail Hour* - 5:00 p.m.

Please feel free to find your table, mingle, and catch up with friends and family as the wedding couple prepares to enter the reception.

Reception - 5:30 p.m.

The wedding reception will kick off with dinner, speeches, and toasts, followed by first dances.

Dance the Night Away - 6 p.m.

Mingle, dance, and have fun as the wedding couple celebrates in 70s, 80s, and 90s fashion.

The wedding couple has set up a discounted room-rate for anyone who is interested in staying at this hotel. If you are looking to book a room for a discounted rate, mention the wedding party's name when booking.

In lieu of a bachelor or bachelorette party, Garrett and Lydia wanted to invite anyone who has a connection to Muncie and/or wants to spend time with them to enjoy an evening in Muncies downtown area. The night before the wedding (Dec. 12) will include a stop at several of the spaces that Garrett and Lydia found special in the first years they were together, including the Heorot, Savages, and Twin Archers. Come have a drink with the nearly wedded couple! Muncie Homecoming Party Timeline: We plan to get started at 5 p.m. at Savage’s Ale House. Through the night, we will eventually head to the Heorot, then Twin Archers, and plan to finish at 1925 Pubhouse, which is the restaurant attached to the hotel many are staying at. Please be advised of a few things; * It is expected to be very, very cold this weekend. Please plan accordingly. * There is no one spot that will be designated for dinner. Lydia and I plan to have something before hand, and we encourage anyone to order anything they’d like at any of the locations. Just know not everyone will be eating at the same time. * If you are driving, please have a plan ahead of the night before consuming any amount of alcohol. * Although there are some places we’d love to go to (The Chug, *pour one out for the Fickle Peach*) we couldn’t fit everything in due to distances between. However, Lydia and I highly encourage you all to visit the places in Muncie that mean something to you before we get the homecoming party started. * If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
