Our Wedding

Our story began at an FCA retreat, where Nate first saw Lydia worshipping. That moment of seeing her stayed with him, and for an entire week, he prayed for confirmation that she was the one he should pursue. After finding peace in his prayers, he sent Lydia a message. What followed was a season of talking, learning about each other, and building the foundation of something special.&nbsp; On February 17th, 2024, we had our first date in Louisville—a halfway point between us. We explored downtown together in the chilly weather but enjoyed the day nonetheless. The night went by fast, like we had known one another for some time. That day marked the start of an unforgettable journey.&nbsp; Nate was captivated by Lydia’s devotion to the Lord, her kindness, her playful spirit, her discipline, her warmth that felt like home, and her ability to listen without judgment. Lydia, on the other hand, couldn’t help but notice Nate’s trust and unwavering commitment to the Lord, the joy that follows him into every room, the heart and boldness he possesses to serve others, his integrity, and his loyalty to his family and friends.&nbsp; The fall of that year wasn’t easy. Nate was busy playing football at WKU, and Lydia was focused on soccer at NKU. Though their time together was limited, they supported each other in every way possible. They took advantage of any opportunity to spend time together, from Nate's day trips to Highland Heights and Lydia riding with Nate's family to Bowling Green. Over time, they became a part of each other’s families, who embraced their relationship and offered unwavering support.&nbsp; By November, Nate was looking at engagement rings with his dad. Though finances were tight, he trusted God to provide and took his time learning what Lydia liked. After graduation, he returned home to pick up a custom-designed ring that reflected Lydia’s unique style and the thoughtfulness of their journey together.&nbsp; On December 29th, 2024, Nate and Lydia spent the day doing one of their favorite things: creating memories through experiences. For Christmas, Nate had planned a scavenger hunt in Cincinnati, which they completed after church. When they returned to Nate’s house, they took a walk in the woods to a spot where he and his brother Caleb had set up a hammock looking over the creek.&nbsp; It was there, surrounded by nature and peace, that Nate proposed. Lydia’s “yes” turned an ordinary day into the best one yet. As if that wasn’t enough, Nate and his family had planned a surprise celebration, disguised as a graduation party. Lydia’s family joined them, making the day even more meaningful.&nbsp; Now, as we prepare for our wedding, we are filled with gratitude for the way God has had His hand in our relationship. Every moment, from our first meeting to our engagement, has been a testament to His faithfulness. We can’t wait to begin this next chapter together, surrounded by the love and support of our family and friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;
