Our Wedding

If you are wondering how we got to this point, this page is dedicated to a short recap of our story together.

Our Story

In August of 2020 Lydia decided to join one of our church's small groups, also known as City Groups. Just a few weeks later Justin joined the same City Group as one of the group leaders. We both met some amazing new friends through this group and loved building up this community. This picture is with members of our City Group at an event focused on connecting young professionals to our church community.

How We Met

We quickly became friends, bonding over our shared faith, love of Marvel movies, and similar sense of humor. This picture is from a whitewater rafting trip we took to Columbus, Georgia, with members of our City Group.

Our Friendship

After some encouragement from a friend/wingwoman, Justin FINALLY asked Lydia out on our first hike together! We made it a tradition to go hiking every month.

Dating

Justin quickly introduced Lydia to his wonderful family and wasted no time putting her to work by asking her to help set up for his brother's (Jacob) proposal to his now wife (Emma). This photo was taken at his brother's engagement party, just one month after we started dating.

Lydia took Justin down to Orlando just a few months later, where he spent the weekend with Lydia, her parents, and her new puppy siblings. This photo was taken on the trip by Lydia's mom (Wendy).

We continued to attend church together and attend our City Group. Lydia decided to get baptized in October of 2021. This photo was taken outside our church by Justin's mom (Tina).

We went to an FSU game together in October and watched it from the Champions Club. The Noles destroyed the other team that day and we like to think it was because of us. Fun fact: this photo was taken exactly 1 year before our wedding day (insert cute crying emoji here)!

Justin refused to wear a cute couples costume, so we had to settle for a pumpkin patch trip with our City Group instead. Feel free to reach out if you want to see the video of Justin shooting this pumpkin with a bow and arrow.

Here we are at a christmas service with our church. Yes this is fake snow and we are actually sweating (it never gets cold in Florida).

After 8 months of dating, Justin proposed at one of our favorite hiking trails. If you look in the background, you can see the beautiful ring box he made for Lydia .

Tallahassee International Airport (TLH)

3300 CAPITAL CIR SW, TALLAHASSEE, FL 32310, USA(850) 891-7800 Tallahassee International Airport (TLH) is the second closest airport to the wedding venue and suggested accommodations. Tallahassee International Airport will offer more flight options for those traveling long distances than Thomasville Regional Airport will be able to offer.

Jacksonville International Airport (JAX)

2400 YANKEE CLIPPER DR, JACKSONVILLE, FL 32218, USA(904) 741-4902 If you are looking for more flight options and don't mind a bit longer of a drive, Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) may offer more direct flight options at a better price. Jacksonville, FL, is just over a two hour drive from the wedding venue and suggested accommodations.

Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP)

6300 W BAY PKWY, PANAMA CITY, FL 32409, USA(850) 763-6751 Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) is another option for those who do not mind a bit of a drive. This airport in Panama City, FL, is a two and a half hour drive to the suggested accommodations. One thing to remember when booking flights to and from Panama City is that it is in a different time zone than the wedding venue.

Rankin Tacos is Justins favorite restaurant and is probably our most frequented restaurant in town. We enjoy eating at Rankin after church on Sundays. Things to Do in Thomasville, GA

Thomasville is known for its beautiful roses. Every spring the town holds the Thomasville Rose Show &amp; Festival.

Things to Do in Tallahassee, FL

If you want to spend some time outside and see some of the prettiest views in Tallahassee, J.R. Alford Greenway is a great choice! Fun fact: this is where Justin and Lydia first said "I love you."

Bar 1903 is located in the old library building in downtown Tallahassee and offers a historic drink menu organized by era. The Bee's Knees is really good!

Hangar 38 is located between Thomasville and Tallahassee. It is a fun place to go for bowling, games, and you can even have dinner while you play. We recommend making a reservation before you go.

This is another beautiful place to spend time outside. Orchard Pond Trail is also where Justin proposed to Lydia!

The Historic Capitol Museum is a great place to learn about the history of Florida. If the tower of the Capitol is open to the public, be sure to head up to the viewing deck on the top floor for an incredible view of Tallahassee!
