The Proposal

August of 2021, Anthony’s team decided to add a location in Naples, Florida. We’ve never been there, but we were packed and ready to move to paradise within weeks. Fast forward two years later and Anthony tells me we’re going to a Gala on May 6th, 2023. This is a town with a lot of events and galas, so a gala on a Saturday wasn’t really out of the ordinary. The thing that might have thrown me off was every time I asked for the invite (to see exactly what attire people were wearing) he couldnt find it. He eventually had an invitation made by one of our friends to prove me wrong. The day of the proposal, I was running late- per usual but he wasn’t really rushing me. Which I did find a little weird in the moment. When we got to the dock, the captain said she already dropped our friends off. Which made sense because we were 15 minutes late. The bartender on the boat gave us two Tito’s clubs and we headed to the top deck. They were playing my favorite country songs, the weather couldn’t have been more perfect and the water was crystal blue. The captain said “we’re almost there. Come down and let me get a picture of you guys before you get off!” We walked over to the tip of the yacht and Anthony got down on one knee. I obviously said yes! I could not have been happier in my life. I looked up and saw my mom and three best friends running over to me. He flew them here from NJ. I was in such shock thinking about how they were in the under cabin the entire time! We then celebrated all night long. We ended the night with some karaoke at our favorite hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. Truly one of the best days of my life!
How we met
Anthony and Lyndsey met the summer of 2019 at the Jersey Shore. Lyndsey was a bartender at D’Jais- a bar that Anthony used to occasionally go to. Once the summer was over and D’Jais closed for the season, they had no way to run into each other anymore. They decided to go on a few dates and eventually made it official. People say if you made it through the covid lock down together, you can make it through anything. Especially for being polar opposites, and only dating for a few months, I’d say they might be right.
