Dan and Lynn’s story begins in the most unexpected of places: a beige-walled, gray-floored cubicle farm; otherwise known as CVL, a civil engineering consulting firm. Lynn joined the company in March 2020, about two years after Dan.They remember their very first meeting differently. Dan insists it was right after Lynn’s interview, when “a cute blonde girl” was given a tour of the office. Lynn swears it was on her first day, when she was making the rounds to meet everyone and stopped by Dan’s desk. Either way, Lynn remembers one thing very clearly: Dan was handsome but quickly pushed the thought aside.Not long after she started, the world shifted. COVID-19 hit, sending almost everyone home to work remotely. Almost everyone. Dan and Lynn were among the few that kept working in the office. Lynn’s desk was tucked away in a dark, windowless corner, far from Dan’s side of the building. But every morning, without fail, Dan would wander over for a quick chat spanning from the weather, weekend plans, or whatever project they were working on. Lynn thought nothing of it beyond kindness; after all, she told herself, there’s no way this smart, good-looking guy was interested in her. Besides, with so much uncertainty in the world, and the fear of being the “last hired, first let go,” she focused on work, not on workplace crushes.Instead of slowing down, CVL got busier than ever. Over one weekend, new cubicles were installed to accommodate the growing staff. That Monday, Dan casually suggested Lynn move over to his side of the office. She hesitated at first, then at the eleventh hour made the switch to the desk catty-corner from his.From then on, their mornings included easy conversations across the cubicle glass. Lynn still didn’t think of it as flirting as he was far too handsome and smart for that, she told herself.Then came November 2020. Lynn was at work, chatting with another coworker about the Friendsgiving party she was hosting that weekend. As Dan walked in and settled at his desk, she tossed him an invite, fully expecting him to say no since he wasn’t exactly known for joining after-work events. But to her surprise, he said, “Yeah, I’ll go,” without a moment’s hesitation.On Friday, Lynn’s close friends arrived early to help set up. Right on time, Dan walked in carrying Coors Light.The evening was full of laughter, music, and friendly chatter. At one point, Lynn challenged everyone to a beer taste test, "Coors Light versus Bud Light" determined that no one could tell the difference. Dan offered to help in the kitchen, lining up the tiny shot glasses.It was there, between the laughter and the clinking bottles, that everything shifted. As Lynn poured, Dan’s hand gently rested on her lower back. It was simple, fleeting, but at that moment, everything clicked. All those mornings, all those small chats… he had been flirting with her all along.From then on, Lynn couldn’t let it go. She was the one making morning small talk. She found reasons to linger, to plan things, to be around him.A few weeks later, on New Year’s Eve, a group of coworkers went out for drinks, but for Dan and Lynn, it felt like they were the only two in the room. When the night wound down, Dan offered her a ride home. Sitting in his Jeep Grand Cherokee, as the clock ticked down the final moments of 2020, they shared their first kiss.The rest, as they say, is history.

Dan and Lynn had their first official date here at Deer Creek Canyon! They hiked the Plymouth Mountain Trail which is a beautiful loop about 2.5 miles long. We highly recommend!

Deer Creek Canyon Park

Red Rocks is always worth a visit! Whether you’re getting a workout by running the bleachers and exploring the trails, or simply stopping by to enjoy the free museum and breathtaking views, it’s an incredible spot to experience. They even host Yoga on the Rocks some mornings so check their website for dates as we get closer! Just note if there’s a concert scheduled, the park closes to the public around 2 PM.

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

A beautiful and easy hiking spot that has great views of the foothills and red sandstone spires!

South Valley Park

You will not be disappointed with the views if you take Morrison Road all the way up to downtown Evergreen. While you're in town, check out the cute coffee shop, Muddy Buck that also has breakfast and lunch options. If you head further west, you can walk around Evergreen Lake or even rent some paddle boards for some fun on the water! Cactus Jack's Saloon &amp; Grill has fun vibes with nice outdoor seating by the creek which often has live music!

Mount Falcon is a beautiful hiking trail in Morrison that is the closest to the venue!
