In November 2020, Preston & Lynnette matched on the online dating website Plenty of Fish (PoF) and started getting to know each other. This was during the COVID 19 pandemic, so date options were quite limited.

Preston traveled to Lawrence for the first date, and they picked up Korean food from O Cafe, which Preston had never tried before. The rest of the evening they laughed, talked, and watched anything and everything streaming. Lynnette's dog, Norah, warmed up to him quickly, but that was probably partially due to the tummy rubs (he knows the way to a peiner's heart is through her stomach!) 😂

In July 2021, Lynnette started a new job, and unofficially moved in with Preston in Olathe, as his apartment was 5 minutes away from her new job.

In May 2022, Preston moved into Lynnette's rental townhome in Lawrence with his cats, Artemis and Freya, and his Co-Best Man, Kiefer. In August 2023, Kiefer branched out to a place of his own.

On August 26th, 2023, Preston created a relationship scavenger hunt around Lawrence. He included 7 local businesses and they all were excited to help. These are all places the couple have made amazing memories at in the last 3+ years. Lynnette's prize for finishing the scavenger hunt was a proposal in Central Park with a beautiful engagement ring.
